There is a fix for the performance counters in the sticky in the other forum that fixes this.

I had the same issue. I got into the game but could not do anything. I had to run the program as I described. It got rid of the errors and I was in. I think I made it to lvl 4 last night.

I have tried loading and reloading. Moved the files. run as admin. No luck.
