So, ignoring Trained to Hunt as the middle ground, we have:

Crafting is so simple and useful BOE items are so few that gold isn't that important. Just make sure your first character is cultivator and apothecary, craft healing pots and once you have a stack of blue for your self sell the rest. Is there any gold sink in the game other than buying crafting materials (or does that use the special currencies)? I remember it used to cost I think 5gold to respec. Does the economy not get out of control without a way to remove gold from the game? I suppose there are healers too.
