Because you do same errors OP does, stop working using administrator's account, you basically invite all the malware to your computer. Besides malwarebyte's antimalware will not be able to delete all of it if you already have kernel infested with rootkits.saupreusse wrote:malwarebytes found 2000+ entries

as i said this is not my PC. it was the pc of a friend who was dumb enough to believe microsoft essentials would make him invulnerablevove wrote:Because you do same errors OP does, stop working using administrator's account, you basically invite all the malware to your computer. I for myself use Kaspersky Internet Security 2016.. its expensive but does what its supposed to do.
Never had problems with malware or viruses.
Re: Authentication Error FIX!!!!!
Microsoft Security Essentials was the antivirus leading on the market few years ago but recently suffered a lot. Still if you are using your computer keeping in mind the security you shouldn't face any malware related problems. Common misstatement that if something is from Microsoft it has to be horrible, Windows Firewall as an example- atm probably the best firewall you can get for Windows. Yet people prefer to pay for some third party solutions because Windows Firewall is from Microsoft.saupreusse wrote:as i said this is not my PC. it was the pc of a friend who was dumb enough to believe microsoft essentials would make him invulnerablevove wrote:Because you do same errors OP does, stop working using administrator's account, you basically invite all the malware to your computer. As for Kaspersky- it doesn't really matter what you use as long as you work from under admin account, malware can still bypass it and if it infects you on system level it can "hide" malicious processes and activities from your antivirus.

Re: Authentication Error FIX!!!!!
maybe it can outsmart kaspersky but it cant outsmart me.
I am really careful.
and right now microsoft essentials is really not that great if you can trust the tests the internet has to offer.
of course anti malware software isnt a 100% solution... its like a condom. better to have one cause the internet is a dirty bitch. the best protection is to watch out yourself.
But i dont even know what this has to do with the thread.

Re: Authentication Error FIX!
Just posting incase it helps anyone but this solution didn't work for me, after following many instructions from various sources I discovered my Windows was resetting my folders to read only, not only that but I must have some blockages on my network. I downloaded Hotspot Shield and activated it - I set the Launcher and WAR.exe to run in admin mode under the compatibility tab in the the properties window. After setting them up my process is now simple, all I have to do is open up the properties of my Game folder, uncheck read only and click apply without closing the properties window, then I fire up the game launcher and viola! Works every time.
Note: Hotspot Shield didn't work first time for me, I had to cycle through the different proxies to find one that did but the one I use now works every time.

Re: Authentication Error FIX!
Just had the same authentication problem after playing successfully for a couple of weeks after switching to a new router on my home network. I tried a few of the suggestions above with no luck. What did work for me was to go into the router on my home network and change my computer from DCHP to Reserved IP. May not work for everyone, but I thought I'd post it in the hope that it does help at least some of you.

Got the same problem. Solved it with the usage of a UK IP for the login stuff.
