The Lost Vale Dungeon has arrived! The Return of Reckoning team is proud to unveil of one of our favorite Dungeons from the Live server, now restored, enhanced, and improved with new features and content never before seen in the original game.
This Dungeon is meant to be played after Bastion Stair, and will likely be the largest Dungeon we ever release. Filled with new bosses, new gear, and untold secrets, can your party or guild rise to the challenge and recover the Everqueen?
For a full list of Dungeon details, check out the Wiki page here. We're also highlighting many of the new updates below:
New and Updated Bosses
We've restored many of Mythic's original mechanics for these bosses, and added new mechanics to many fights to make them more fun. Our thanks to the many testing groups who supported this release over the last few months to help us balance and fine tune these!
New Story & Voice Acting
We've added a new storyline into the Dungeon based on our learnings from last year's Dragonback Pass. With over 250+ new audio lines added to the Dungeon, this is our most story-rich and voice acted piece of content in the game! Special thanks to all the talented voiceover artists who lent their gifts to make this possible.
New Darkpromise Armor
Players can earn the new Darkpromise Armor sets within the Lost Vale Dungeon. There are three sets per class to choose from, featuring a Main Spec, Off Spec, and a third "Hybird" spec that usually applies a unique group focused buff.
There are two ways to earn these sets: First, you can select a piece via repeatable quests after clearing specific bosses 4 times. Second, you can acquire a piece of "Broken" Darkpromise gear via bosses. Trade this into the proper vendor (one vendor per set) to instantly get the piece you want.
To see a full list of Darkpromise Set bonuses for all classes, check out the Darkpromise Set Wiki page here.
New Weapons
New Weapons have also arrived with the Dungeon, and can be earned by completing three full runs of the Dungeon and beginning the short quest given as an Influence Reward.
After you complete this quest, you can take a new repeatable quest that will allow you to pick up additional weapons if you continue to run the Dungeon.
New Original Backpieces
Get your fashionhammer needs ready, because 24 new original backpieces, seen in the trailer for the first time ever, have been added to the game! You can check out images of the new backpieces here.
Our special thanks to the many concept artists and modelers who made these a reality - they look wonderful, and we're excited for players to get them!
New Rings
New Rings, inspired by the Twilight's Tide Annulus rings, can now be earned within the Dungeon, giving players a permanent option to get rings that are just slightly below the power of an Annulus ring all year long.
These rings can be forged in Gold, Silver, and Copper, and like Twilight's Tide, you can select the combination of Ring and Gemstone you'd like to get a bonus that benefits your build. Specific bosses within the Dungeon will always drop materials for these rings, and every boss has a small chance of dropping a bonus ring material when defeated.
New Liniments
Ten new Liniments have been added to the game, and can be uniquely earned in the Lost Vale. Cultivators can find Blue Seed drops at about a 10% rate per boss, with a higher drop rate from Treekin or Dryad type enemies. There are five Liniments that can be grown from seeds.
Butchers can earn the other five Liniments by Butchering specific bosses once defeated. While this gives less Liniments than a grown Seed, the rate on these results is 100% and is guaranteed when defeating and butchering key bosses. Some Dungeon mobs also have a rare chance to drop these Liniments when butchered.
New Hard Mode Achievements
Another brand new feature we're unveiling with Lost Vale is the arrival of Hard Mode Achievements. These achievements are meant to push even the most skilled of teams, and there's a new Hard Mode Achievement for almost every boss in the Dungeon.
Achievements are earned as a group, so if your party completes one, all members present will earn a Champion's Mark and any other bonuses granted, like Titles, Bestial Tokens, or more.
You can find a full list of the Achievements and how to earn them here on the Lost Vale Wiki page.
New Dyes
12 new dyes have also been added and can be earned within the Dungeon. To preview them for all your cosmetic needs, you can find images here, or you can preview them in-game with the most updated Pocket Palette add-on.
Our Biggest Dungeon To-date
From start to finish, Lost Vale took the Dungeon team about 7 months to rebuild, and it arrives today as the largest, most in-depth, and most content rich Dungeon ever launched on the server.
We'd like to take a moment to once more say THANK YOU to all of our testers, artists, voice actors, coders, designers, and everyone who poured their time into this project. This ambitious release would not have been possible without you, and we sincerely appreciate it.
Good Luck!
And that's all to cover for now - Lost Vale is a challenging Dungeon, and we expect some fights may take players a bit of time to learn and overcome, but we hope you'll rise to the challenge and even have some fun doing it!
To enter the Dungeon, form a group and head to Avelorn! Order players can find the Ship that sails them over just north of their Avelorn Warcamp, and Destruction players can find their ship waiting just west of Dark Elf Chapter 12 - check out the new portal in Destruction's Avelorn Warcamp to jump there even faster.
Happy hunting, and may you find the Everqueen - the Vale awaits!
