DPS Shaman... am I missing something?

Do shaman really not get a tactic to make Brain Bursta + dot aoe comparable to AM or am I missing something?

It's keeping me from playing the class.

AoE options are slightly different for shaman, but achieve largely the same effect. There's a tactic to make "Yer' a Weaklin" an AoE DoT - called "Look at Dem!", and as for a direct AoE, there's "Da Waaagh! is Coming" which hits enemies within 20ft of the target.

So, overall they're quite similar in terms of what's available.

-33% damage for +77% area and Radiant Gaze now does AoE.
SoC got like +200% dmg buff.
5 stack DE gives +125% area.

Would hardly call that a nerf.

Oh i see area have dif formula, i was looking on it like 30%buff. But -20ft to range. On top if you waste 5mech points no swift casts of lance removing gatling gun am mechanic. And it was only usually used in funneling, cos no space for 2 sec cast skills when u stand in midlle if blob with your wb. AM is no bw so with -30% dmg nerf it looks a giant nerf for me. He lost ability to make long aoe fast burst of dmg, trading it for aoe dot. From my perspective its nerf. And am didnt became posible part of wb setup as rp and zeals did. Dunno how the situation with shamz.
