Re: BO
Saw last month Uchoo on twitch were streaming BO SnB for 6vs6 ranked.
On Wb your a more good for melee DPS has you Buff them a lot ( corp debuff and ws buff), and for speed.
In tank tree there is 11pt tactic and 13pt ability, very useful, game changing has it add 10% damage reduction, immun cc and 30% speed for 6sec. Work only for group.

Re: BO
Honestly, SnB Black Orc is pretty damn amazing in warband play.
For actually doing your core job - protecting your team - you can't really go wrong. You've got a bunch of skills that reduce damage for the whole group. You can take a real beating with high block chance. You can perma-slow your target. You've got AoE root. You've got a group sprint with Linecracka tactic (this is really amazing utility) and another group sprint once you reach full SoV.
When you're defending a keep or fort, our channel ability (cant hit me) also makes you a true beast for the funnel.
In virtually every warband or scenario I join when specced SnB, im top protection. The only time that doesn't happen is when i don't have a mdps to guard. A small caveat: so many tanks go 2hander that its not that difficult to get top protection.... but still.
In warband play, SnB BO really shines. The things it cant do (damage, aoe debuffs, heal debuffs) just aren't that important as others in teh warband will be doing them. The weakness of SnB BO only really become a problem solo or small scale, at which point going 2h is probably better.

Re: BO
Whilst not being specific to black orcs, but tanks in general, I feel a big part of being a "good" tank is the psychological aspect of combat.
So many players are afraid to make the first move. If they see someone running at them, their natural instinct is to run away. As a tank - especially a physically imposing tank like a black orc! - you can have a big impact on that psychology! By charging first, getting in the enemies face, you can sometimes turn the tide of a fight almost single handedly!
Like, I really love running into the backline and getting in healers' faces. I can't really *do* anything to them as a group, as I lack damage and aoe, but simply being in their faces often causes them to scatter and panic. If they're running from you, they aren't healing their team!
(NB: this doesn't work on experienced players! A high ranked good healer will simply ignore you, as they know you can't do anything to them. But it does work surprisingly often!!).

Re: BO
Guarding is an art form!
First, if you don't have it already, get the Enemy addon. Part of this addon is the guard indicator, which lets you know how far away you are from your guarded target, as well as putting a big blue arrow over their head. 30ft is not very far! Having a clear indicator of who you're guarding and how far away they are is invaluable.
Second, you guard whoever needs you, and is close!
Generally, yes, you wanna guard melee DPS, so that you can run with them towards the squishies and cause havoc. But not all melee DPS have good target selection - if you're guarding a mdps who keeps hitting enemy tanks, ditch that loser and go guard someone who deserves it!
You wanna switch guard as early as possible. As soon as you see the enemy targetting one of your teammates, switch guard to them (assuming you're close to them ofc!). If multiple people are getting hit, save healers first, then melee dps, then rdps, then other tanks. Yes, sometimes you should guard other tanks, tanks need love too! Two tanks cross-guarding each other can be great for soaking up large amounts of damage.
All that said, there are some situations where you shouldn't guard people, or at least be prepared to remove it. Any time there is a funnel situation that requires a morale push (keep / fort funnels primarily), the most important thing is that you, as tank, get up to morale 4 for the push. If you're at risk of dying due to guard damage, its perfectly fine to remove guard and let them die. A DPS can be rezzed without compromising the funnel, but if you die, the funnel gets weaker, and if you lose your morale from dying, you can't use your m4 for the big push and you'll also die.

Re: BO
In certain situations, guard will be your most used ability. If you're in a proper group, you'll have your own proper mdps to babysit, you can set and forget; but for most play you'll be expected to assess threats and act accordingly to mitigate them. Most of the time it will be perfectly obvious who the enemy is targeting to burst. You need to determine if you can save them, if you should even try to save them, or turn to another task at hand.
Check out the enemy composition. If you see a handful of sorcs and WE you will prioritize, Savin Me Hide. If you see a physical dps that has been top damage the last few scens slap, Ya Missed Me, on them when your guarded target is knocked. BO has some excellent debuffs, but it requires skill to anti-burst.
Don't be afraid to stay in the backline. If you have a single healer in a scenario, it might be best for you to keep them alive at all cost. Is there a bomb BW, or ASW? Great guard them, but you need to be able to read your allies. If your SW is running a strength potion, that's a target to keep on your guard list.
Now that BO has a proper punt, even at the cost of a tactic, the class is much more viable particularly in small man play. I leveled up to 80 without a single target punt, and it was awful having to chew through everything; and being consistently humiliated by the opposition tank who would just knock you, punt you, and blapp your target.
