rSH how to deal with WL?

Hi there -

Just switched my BIS mSH to ranged for the first time. Doing ok as I learn the abilities, etc. but having a rough time with WLs solo. Any pointers?

Running 13/0/11 (Teef'z build).

Running the Detaunt tactic and even detaunting the WL in the air (not sure if that stacks with the tactic) but as soon as I land I am basically dead. The pet is too fast so I get yanked 100% of the time. I've slotted Focused Mind and Concealment but outside of that for the pull I get murdered by pounce, Cull the Weak, etc.

i dont think you can. WL pet is unkiteable and you die to the frontloaded burst. If you get opener at 100ft you might be able to kill wl provided he has full wounds debuffs on and has 1 hand down the trousers while you catch him.

I think the actual answer is that you can't if solo. From my observations at least, I don't play rSH.

Either group up with others or follow a wb around to take care of the WL problem.
Other option is playing in distance from the warcamps/Keeps that can be closed off with +30% movespeed before +50% movespeed Lion pet manages to get to you.

I have a rSH and I haven't found a way to survive an equivalent WL solo. If they're loner spec you may have a chance if you play 100% without errors and caught the WL off guard... or outlevel them.

I'm pretty much with the others - it's exceedlingly difficult, usually impossible.

They've got 2 gap closers - pounce and lion pull.

You've got 2 gap extenders - M1 punt and Sticky Squigs

Then you've got your snare. If you get attacked with no morale, you won't reach M1 before you die. If you've got a little bit of morale, then it's possible - between all yours pots, detaunts and gap extenders - to survive their burst and get into kiting range and win.

One thing that can help with initial burst survival is your disarm. Get that off early and it'll help a lot.


But mostly, u find a WL that can play even half well, you're gonna die.

yeah, I pretty much gave up soloing with it last night and just surf WBs instead. Crazy that I am 50/50 with WHs popping on me but I can't survive WL shenanigans. If we had a better version of Run Away and higher dodge to avoid the pull, then maybe.

You have a chance if you get the jump and they are undergeared.

Otherwise bring friends.

It's possible, but the odds are not in your favor. You have to know what you're doing and what he's about to do, perfectly manage your escapes and cc. And you have to start the fight in the open field, a single mistake and you're dead. BiS WL will take half of your hp with one auto and skill cast. You just have to accept that you can't kill everyone. Like WL can't kill a regen tank.
