[Sorc] Class Changes that would boost the Sorceress

Hey everyone, I've been playing a lot of sorceress lately, testing out things as I worked on my on my guide (Currently Unlisted, i recieved alot of fantastic feedback from the community and am rebuilding the guide as i test out new gear and builds for the Sorc). I found that the Sorceress really suffers in small scale and solo content. I believe this is primarily due to long cast times with the agony tree, and slower damaging calamity dot tree since Warhammer Online RvR in general has such a short Time to Kill. A few changes that I think would greatly benefit this class are as follows, and I would like to hear feedback on what others think:

*Of course all of this would need number testing, but this is just off the top of my brain housing group

1. Remove the cooldown of Arctic Blast, this would become the new spammable for Havoc Tree
2. Change Doombolt to a 3.5 second cast, add 10% passthrough of defenses and increase damage by 10%, give 10s cooldown (damage numbers would need testing)
3. Add tactic to make Arctic Blast and Vision of Torment nearly undefendable
4.
5. Change Black Horror to be a 3.5 second cast, increase damage by 10%, give 10s cooldown.
6. Neverending Agony tactic should also give Infernal Wave a 25% chance to strip those damaged by it of 1 blessing.
7. Hastened Fear tactic should reduce Grip of Fear cooldown by 15 seconds, Dread Aspect Reduction can remain 7s
8. Triumphant Blasting, should be changed to only knockdown enemies in pvp (remove knockback, no one should ever take this for knocking back people, that goes against your goal to spam destruction spells on tight groups of people). Maybe make this only effect shattered shadows and Black horror.

Feel free to tear this apart, I've created quite a few guides for different classes and this is the first time i've felt so strongly that a class needed an update. So just starting the conversation here!

I cant reall comment on your sorc specifics, but what would already help casters in general would be to make the cast checks less strict for long casts so they dont break that easily and reduce the amount of disrupt you can get from willpower or revert the strikethrough changes and revert the sorc mechanic nerf.

But yeah sorcs are in need of a buff.

3s cast are already way too long (when every rock can cause "out of sight") so no timer need increase
Same for more backlash, sounds like yellow choppa :p
Improvements , when justified, don't necessary need to come with a nerf :idea:

I like the arctic blast idea, mages casting ice should def get more slow options

I don't agree at all on triumphant blasting :
At first I thought the same as you but this is gold for 1v1
With this you can use Dire Blast instead of Mage bolt and try a lucky punt with destro spells
It is also really fun to have an aoe punt for lava maps, it can save healers from wh etc...
Some noobs may give immunity with pit of shades but it's not as common as the chosen root

Here is my wishlist : Balance proposals
One change I'd like the most is Dhar Wind to be cast on the move
When sorc have to kite with low health + dark magic full, they can't do anything...

Normal spells/heals could keep loading and be casted if the target is visible at the end of timer

I´ve watched your sorc youtube guide and you ST mastery build as well as rotation is completely wrong.

I did have a hard time finding a ST Rotation that I liked, and the one i posted is the one I was able to have most success with in killing blows while in a Warband!

I did try some ST Burst with Chill wind + Word of Pain + Doombolt into gloomburst into impending doom. But the chill wind + word of pain feels like they were disrupted way more often. And by the time those two globals were cast, the enemy ran away before i could cast a doombolt, OR they were dead. With the ST rotation I put in my video, i had consistent burst casts.

I'm all ears to improve my rotation though, what do you have?

I wish the sorc and bw mechanic also added some anti disrupt striketrough since the disrupt rates are so high on many char atm.
Have no problem doing damage just wish the damage landed^^

This is my exact thought on the strikethrough addition to doombolt, and the tactic that makes two skills way less likely to be defended against. Very similar to a talent the magus has.

Adding disrupt pen only does so much with the current system where you can only bypass a maximum of 50% of your enemies defensives. This is the reason most spells get disrupted not the lack of disrupt pen.

The current avoidance mechanic is completely unfair to everyone speccing offensive. If it was reverted to how it worked on live there probably wouldn't even be much of a problem for sorc and bw.

Its bonkers how tanks and healers can get well over 50% disrupt but i can somehow onl get around 25% strikethrough even when in bis and completely offensive. There are legit targets (mostly blackguards and zealots) that I can not damage as a caster.

Jokes aside I agree, imo the 50% bypass is one if not the worst change made during the time I've played this game.
