Hi
Does anyone play Exit wounds? I like the idea of being a debuffer with EW and the heal debuff to help take targets down. I'm still working my way to Sov (rr 63 atm) so maybe the dmg will come one day. I'm just looking for some regular WH's to give their thoughts.
Thanks

Re: WH - Exit Wounds
Usually people use it where bal just not effective, like city, or when use excom m4. EW prob hardest hiting burst skill wh have, but 240 tough debuff not really that strong, but if you staking dots could boost dmg a litlle. EW pretty weird but i know few WH that liked it and used instead of bal. But it boost midle tree skills, and they oriended for prolonged combat, i would choose boost for torments for burst kill. Think abso hit like 200dmg less then EW.

Re: WH - Exit Wounds
My remembrance my be out of date but its ranged which is a solid benefit in some builds and cant be cleansed unlike melee only BAL and has no positional requirement.
You can technically get BAL, EW and PTF at endgame

Re: WH - Exit Wounds
Sounds like you are looking for a spec that lets you perform.
Truth is wh is not a good soloer right now IMO. I find it to be overnerfed and overly squishy.
BaL is your option for single target damage however

EW is used in some content, namely in premade scenario and city siege single target parties for the strong burst line-ups with other burst oriented classes like WL. More often than not the choice to run EW is more of a choice to run Excommunication, the mid tree m4, which is very strong in coordinated group vs group gameplay. EW/Excomm builds are not advised for unorganized gameplay or soloing, as they rely on coordination with your group to utilize the burst and utility to their fullest extent.
If you're interested in learning more about the class, its builds and where they are used you can check out my WH guide in my signature. It includes full writeups on all the staple builds of WH such as EW and Excomm with mastery, renown, gear builds and explanations included.
Not everyone plays this game for soloing, you realize that right? Original post didn't mention solo at all, in fact alluded to quite the opposite. If you think the class is bad at soloing, that's definitely a personal issue. It has been nerfed, we all know that, but it's still quite strong for soloing purely due to having stealth and the ability to both engage and disengage from fights at a whim. Plenty of solo WH are doing very well even after the nerfs. It's just a matter of adapting to changes and picking your fights well, same as soloing has always been. Such as not fighting 900 toughness, 25% redarpen hybrid shamans who are a direct counter to you.

I just don't think I can agree. It dies far too fast for what it can do and you will struggle at fighting a great number of classes assuming you're both rr80. That means all tanks, healers, beefy maras, beefy choppers, defensive welfs, magus. Honestly I think a melee squig herder with some regen could 'probably' edge out a witch hunter.gersy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 4:29 pmKaldus wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 3:36 pm Hi

I have tried both wl and am to greater effect solo roaming.
Re: WH - Exit Wounds
You can't really do it because of the way the mastery trees are designed. It's only good for a niche meme build or if you are playing a dedicated debuff role for others.

This is more glass cannon issue than wh issue.
Sustain builds are the easiest and most effective way to win 1v1s and will likely counter all burst builds with relative ease.
AM is has always been the solo class and WL is at the moment top tier too having both huge cc and massive frontloaded burst in same build. So comparing anything to them is a bit unfair.
