Archmage is in a really good spot. I don't have the sturdiness of a WP, and don't give out as much protection as a RP, but I do give out insane burst healing and if played right, it's not as static as it used to be but can be very mobile. AM also now has a good balance between ST/group heals, and direct/HoT heals. Most of all, with an improved mechanic it's really fun to play, either in WB or smallscale.

I typically run the following for heal spec:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_if ... sp=sharing

If I play small-scale, I typically swap Light of Isha out for Desperation.

Gear full Sov, 2x Annulus rings, Sentinel Wind Ring, Fortress Staff.
Talis full Willpower, as since recent patches it scales much better.
Renown points in Heal Crit, then Willpower.

Would recommend a more defensive build if you're focussed on Scenario premades or cities, as you'll get focussed hard. However, for most RvR an AM is about positioning, so going somewhat paper towel works really well for me.

The above gives me (without Liniments etc)
1,001 Willpower
8,200 Wounds
42% heal crit chance
218 healing bonus

In the recent heal patch they also made building Force and Tranquility worthwhile, so for the first time since Live I feel that the mechanic actually does something.

I like pre-HoTting 2x DPS in my group and in another group.
Then a Phoenix's Rejuvenation across the Group.
Apply Magical Infusion to a key target - typically a DPS.
I'm then at 5x Tranquility.
Hit a Blessing of Isha, with 50% reduced cast time, and it'll also then give a group HoT.
So at crunch time, targets have 3x HoTs and a group heal hitting them.
Since I used 5x Tranq, Empowered Lores then gives +50% on Critical Healing for 5s.
Then do an Energy of Vaul on MA, so everyone around them gets another heal.
And do a ST heal on a target that's low - typically Funnel Essence.

Energy of Vaul got nerfed and over again, so it's not as powerful as it just to be. It's just another heal that can be mixed into the rotation. Still, I've had EoV critical hit for 1,986, and it's not limited to your group - definitely still worth it.

Just some question : going full "glasscannon (Heal)" wirh no anticrit renow, no armor/ tough tali , worth It? Seems too much squisy for me

It’s all about positioning. In RvR, I typically churn out >5x more healing than I take damage, so glass cannon is not an issue for me. If I die, the WB is typically dead anyways.

I have an AM and a RP. I've personally decided to make my RP the tanky boy healer, and AM will be my squish healer.

RP is fairly obvious. Destro has one more spellcaster in the magus, and generally speaking you can deal with ranged damage much better than mdps. (disrupt from willpower, stagger/silence) So you're worried about melee, and you can slot up some 136 armor talis, and put Ancestral Inheritance on to better survive the melee train. Regenerative Shielding is there as well, so you can reasonably get your armor values approaching 4k.

For AM you don't have those two tactics, so even trying to build armor is a pointless endeavor. Also you don't have, Do Somethin Useful, so toughness is also not viable. Instead I would go willpower/wounds. Even with the better willpower scaling it seems wasteful to spec entirely into willpower talis. I'd go half will, half wounds. I'd say 8k wounds for a healer is a minimum.

Personally I check my heal values with the big 2 second heal. If it's hitting for 1500 non proc, you're probably fine. That means you'll get heal crits in the 2800 - 3k range. That's plenty of healing potential. Even my RP with mostly armor talis heals for 1600 non crit Rune of Restoration. If your boon of Hysh hits for 1500 non crit, you have adequate healing imo. At that point invest in some wounds to survive WE KD and morale damage.

AM survivability, as far as the melee train, comes down to puddle, and walk between worlds. If you're having trouble with survivability I recommend Run Between Worlds tactic. It is underrated imo, and you can play very troll/agressive in your playstyle if that appeals to you. It is particularly strong into baiting mdps in scenarios, you just have to be good at positioning, and willing to take a few deaths.
