[Shadow Warrior] General Build Theory

Hey, I've been asking SWs I've seen how they're specced and I'd say 9 times out of 10 they're playing Skirmish

Is anyone out there still playing anything else?

How is it working for you? I've been really successful playing skirmish but I'd love to hear how other SWs are dealing with mastery/renown

For renown usually go with Ws/Bs for skirm, Deft defender/str for melee, and crit/Bs for Scout

Maybe, not as effective, but generally the same.
"One-shottable" targets still are, properly geared, guarded, etc...not. And SW success highly depends on class composition of enemies and friendlies, as always.
Means determine end.

Ignoring the obvious switch of barrage and shadow sting
I've had some decent triumphs with it, focusing on setting up a tank with SS and then finding a healer and then setting up a healer with the same debuffs/DoT and knocking them down to kill or at least put tons of pressure on the tank/mdps guard combo while the other DPS focus them down.

I guess there's not much to say about SW since there are 3 really usable specs, mostly involving only 2 of 3 trees until T4 when assault becomes half-playable

Is anyone using the 5 piece dev proc? I can't see any circumstance where it would provide more than a nominal benefit. The ballistic buff does not stack with stat potions and there really isn't an alternative stat potion that you can use in place of a ballistic buff. Further, the initiative debuff won't stack with eye shot. Really, the only nominal benefit you get from the 5 piece proc is the initiative debuff on targets that you do not use eye shot on. I don't have a problem with the buffs not stacking and I don't think the proc buffs should. It is just disappointing to have a 5 piece proc that is basically useless.

Anyhow, anyone figure out a way to make this worthwhile? I am thinking of running the 4 piece dev and swapping the stalker gloves back in for the extra 2% crit.

The init debuff stacked on live, did you test to verify they do not stack here?

It did stack on live but devs said that it won't on RoR I think.
