I have been running some dps tests on my engi and I ran into something weird.
I had thought that crit damage was a fixed amount. But I have noticed that there is a variation in crit damage.
At first I thought it was a proc, or maybe a defensive buff. But after eliminating those I still see the variance.
For an example on a bear with firebomb no debuffs / buffs / procs / turrets.
Base damage hit 311 (86 mitigated) (this is consistent over 15 hits)
Critical hit 437 (122 mitigated) (5 hits out of 15 crits)
Critical hit 470 (131 mitigated) (10 hits out of 15 crits)
Is there suppose to be a variation? or is something funky going on with the damage calculations.

Re: [Question] Crit Damage Calculation
On WAR, crit damage actually varried between +35% and +55% damage. Could be the case here, I can't check atm to confirm.
Re: [Question] Crit Damage Calculation
Not between 40 and 60% ? This is what I am remembering.
All in all crit damage has a certain range and isn't the same all the time.

Dying is no option.
Re: [Question] Crit Damage Calculation
It should vary between +40% and +60%.
Crit tactics like Fanatical Cleansing should then add +50% for a total of +90% to +110%.

It does??????
What are the varibles for this, from the attacker or defender?

There were no variables. It was just a random number generator.
Crit damage % = +40% + (random value between 0 and 1) x 20%
