Magus AOE still 20 ft

With the recent reduction of AOE from 30ft to 25ft just curious as to why the Magus 20ft AOE abilities weren't increased to 25ft to be on parity with every one else?

As a regular ror enjoyer with absolutely no vested interest in Magus/Engi becoming more OP I second this 😏

In all seriousness though, Sorc Gloom of Night, SM Raking Talons, BW Spreading Flames, Shaman Da Waagh is Coming - and probably more, but that's all I can think of - all seem to be 20ft based, so it's probably due to a distinction between AOE centred around a single enemy target vs AOE that centres around the player/friendly target.

Particularly since the Magus abilities this affects are the ones that centre around enemy targets (Pandemonium, Glean Magic, Seed of Chaos, Surge of Insanity)

Something with a radius of 20ft can have a bigger area than something with a radius of 40ft, for example. Especially when considering true coverage in practice. Cones vs pbaoe vs gtaoe/targeted AoEs are apples to oranges, can't look at radius alone to find actual area, and even less so effective practical area.

Sorry - a circle with a radius of 20 ft is one where all points of the circle are 20ft from the midpoint- a circle with a 40ft radius is one where all points on the circle are 40ft from the mid point. Its impossible for 20ft radius to be bigger than a 40ft radius. Unless you live in some weird quantum, non euclidean dimension

call me crazy for trying to interpret this, but i believe he meant range of 20ft with an impact aoe radius of 40ft. :)

Or, unless not all circles are actually full circles. And as mentioned, even if we ignore cones, AoEs that can be placed on a spot on the ground or emit from a selected target as opposed to caster itself all vary in ease of use and effective coverage of enemies for practical reasons.

The larger history of the engi/magus is one where the Devs often target some thing X and these two classes get impacted in the wake of that focus, thus becoming even more marginalized. I don't believe any on the Dev team have high lvl engi/magus. They don't really understand the classes and are generally indifferent to them.
