I found out two years ago that this server exists and made an account. Being a long time Warhammer fan and having worked some time with minis for Games Workshop in my youth I had no choice. I've had extensive experience with mmo's and always enjoyed competion the most.
Having aprox 1 h per day and a few more for weekends I find it extremely tough to find any kind of skill based pvp. It's always the same story about numbers and "Get a Warband going". Most warbands just wait and wait and wait, until I feel like I'm at the local tax office. Other times it's simply pub stomping galore. Scenarios used to be what I enjoyed the most at launch, because there were so many in line I met different teams every match. SC's are simply an exploit for those that have a lot get more than a lot. The dungeons are as hard as watching paint dry.
The current meta seems to be all about chasing away new players and new ideas. I love the idea of you maintaining the game, but remember it was made in its original state for a lot more concurrent players than what we have now.
I wish the game was more solo friendly, because at the current state this game will only draw dedicated people with no daytime business
to attend to.

Re: My experience and review of RoR
Agreed. But i think the unfortunate reality is that at least some of the "top plaeyers" and Some of RoR Staff want it that way.. For it to be their own thing and "Special" and this same grp dont care for Solo's at all. It feels like they kind of despise the idea of Solo.
This is just my feelings/opinions not based on actual "inside info" just intuition, so there is a high chance i am wrong

"To clarify, me asking to developers to go test their own changes is not sign of toxicity or anger, but a sign of hope that the people punching in the numbers remain aware of potential consequences and test their own changes"-Teefz

Uttering those words just made several premade enthusiasts turn to salt.

Re: My experience and review of RoR
Agree with this.
I believe they channel everything to orvr because of the fear of collapse. I am here for the nostalgia hit and I do appreciate the work they put in to keeping this game alive and all the tooling the built, however...
For some reason certain off-specs are able to completely enjoy roaming while other off-specs are made ineffective or weak.
I believe they tried to capture the Destiny Game timeboxing excitement of events (Trials on Weekends, etc.) but its poorly implemented.
How to fix?
-Combine SC and Weekly RVR live events
--instead of 3 milestones per event, make it 6 (e.g. 1 is for RvR, 2 is for SC, 3 is for RVR, etc.)
-allow offline contribution to go towards the event. Spending hours in a zone then having to log offers no contribution to event progress. EZ fix
-fix the SC queue system (single/duo queue, anything over that goes premade queue)
-remove AAO contribution to the RVR events. X-realm players are able to fly through all their -characters playing the AAO game.
-remove Morale DMG cap or increase it to 6k dmg. Tracking this creates lag so better to remove it. They have effectively reduced all the pumps...
-create an AOE cap (3 on most abilities, 9 on tactic influenced abilities that penalize ST playstyles).
-reduce GCD back to 1.15 (I'm older now but can still react faster than 1.5 and find myself 'waiting'. 1.5 is clunky)

Because nothing motivates an effective, spirited discussion like a good stern threat.

Re: My experience and review of RoR
Solo/small scale is the funnest part of the game. I'm willing to bet a lot of people feel that way. They just don't have much of a choice.
Re: My experience and review of RoR
Solo and small scale is the essence of this game. And I agree the most fun aspect of playing. Now we have the blob, which is, in my opinion, the least fun aspect of the game. I mean come on, anyone can blob.
