Hey, I'm new to the game so go easy on me if I've missed something glaringly obvious here, but I can't seem to figure this one out:
I came to this game to scratch a raidheal-itch and I picked up a zealot and all is dandy, until I get into a warband. The warband frames (I use Enemy for this) tells me that warbandmembers are in range, by showing a full alpha HP bar, but when I click them to cast a heal it immediately dims the alpha and tells me "I can't see that character". In a setting with multiple warbands and lots of people running around (it's like picking out your school of fish in the ocean) it means that I potentially could be in range of every warbandmember, yet having to click through each and everyone to discover that no ne are in LOS of me. Is there really no way to get this game to verify if a unit is within LOS (and range) and then displaying that information (preferrably on a unitframe)?
I suppose you'll get a hang of this after spending countless hours in this game, finally aquiring a supernatural spatial awareness, but then again I'm not sure if randomly clicking frames to see if I actually is what it tells me it is is the optimal way for me to spend countless of hours... This seems like such an obvious flaw in the base design that I'm hoping SO HARD that I'm just doing something wrong here.
Does anyone have a solution or explanation to this? Thanks.

Re: Raidframe frustrations regarding distance and LOS as a healer
Hey there, i am experiencing the same issue.
I use the group icons in the enemy addon and it also displays warband member icons over their characters. It does allow you to spot them easier in the chaos and make sort of an estimate of their range.
But the biggest thing that helps as far as i remember (just back from 4 year hiatus) is organisation.
The organised warbands we ran in the past were just setup well and people listened to the leader calling shots and had a habit of hanging close to one another, the entire warband that is. Being on voice comms is also a great plus, just adds to response times and ppl tend to stray off less to skirmisch.
When im not healing i tend to be aware of how far from the pack i stray so i dont range the aoe heals or die in a tight spot so i cant get ressed etc.
Not a straightup solution but i hope it provides some insight.

Re: Raidframe frustrations regarding distance and LOS as a healer
Thanks for the insight. Too bad there is no hard and fast solution to this.. Organization seems like a possible patch to the issue, but getting into ANYTHING organized pre 40 is absolutely impossible it seems. Either Autoband instakicks you or you're gently shown the door. Either way you're left with skimming the blobs spothealing and it's utter chaos and very lackluster as far as good gaming experiences go. And if you get into a warband you have to stare at the raidframes and randomly click them so hard that it's impossible to keep any situational awareness (as a new player) so you'll inevitably end up a straggler and get picked off by the enemy blob. Trying to be sneaky and hide behind a stair, a hedge, a box or just about anything makes half the warband "unable to see"... It's just very, very awkvard and sadly bordering on unfun.

What you are describing sounds like the typical enemy unit frame bug when one or several people in that warband are in a different zone.
The enemy unit frames tend to bug out like you described when not everybody in the group / warband is in the same zone.

Are you saying you don't experience the same functionality with raid/WB frames that I do? Do you have functionality that also tells if people are in LOS of your abilities, as well as in range?noronn wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 11:16 am What you are describing sounds like the typical enemy unit frame bug when one or several people in that warband are in a different zone.
