Darkpromise seems like a useless set for WP 2H

Hey guys, I was looking at the new Darkpromise set and weapon and wanted to share my thoughts with you.

I'm playing WP 2h, so I can talk about the whole journey so far.

I have the impression that DP isn't better than BL, at least when we're talking about 2h (I think DOK should be about the same).

Here we go:

BL
+ 66 Weapon Skill
+ 73 Wounds
Boost II - On Being Hit: 5% chance to increase your critical hit rate by 6% for 9 seconds.
+ 87 Stength
Vicious Strikes - On Hit: 15% chance to reduce the target's Toughness by 110 while increasing your Weapon Skill by 110 for 10 seconds.
Dissolve IX - On Hit: 10% chance to reduce the target's armor by 800 for 6 seconds.

DP
+71 Weapon Skill
+78 Wounds
Renewal: On hit, 10% chance to recover 30 Fury/Essence over 3 seconds.
+5% Melee Crit
+6% Armor Penetration
Impede Movement: On hit, 10% chance to reduce target's movement speed by 30% for 5 seconds.

WP/DOK DPS need STR + WS as their primary stats, followed by Wounds and Crit.

So, let's get to the points about the sets:

BL
I see that Dissolve IX has become useless since Vanquish (WP skill) removes over 1500 armor.
So there's no need for a seventh piece, which could easily be the glove.

Bringing Sentinel Gloves + Sentinel Ring definitely improves things.

All the bonuses up to the sixth piece are great, especially Vicious Strikes, which has a great chance of occurring and, in addition to removing 110 Toug, also gives you 110 WS!

Now, let's talk about the
DP
Well, theoretically, everything here should be better, not just the final armor.

Renewal is a meme proc; there's no reason for it to exist. Fury/Essence is definitely not missing; you just need to know how to balance it in combat. Here it would have to be STR.

Impede Movement: I seriously doubt that's actually useful. Perhaps a proc that gives +movement speed would be more useful, one that lasts 3 seconds, with a 5-10 second cooldown...

Besides what I mentioned about Renewal and Impede Movement, this set doesn't have a jewel, so there's no way to use two pieces of it to complete the BL like you can with Sentinel.

Anyway, I understand that some testing and calculations may have been done, but honestly, I see some improvements for a set like this to be truly better than BL, which requires less time and patience.

I'm speaking based on WP 2h because, as I said at the beginning, that's what I'm currently playing with, but the people in the guild I play with are all stopping equipping this set on their classes because they don't see any advantage in it.

From my dps experience, you should not compare only set bonus but other flat bonus/piece and make the math.

For exemple on my dps on depending set up i use a 5 dp/hv on my range i m using the 6+mix senti,

Mb your 5 dp mix with other dp set > sentie/bl

But the real things are doing some test in game ;D
