Correct, which was quite useful in many situations as there were lots of abilities that could not be used properly in the thick of a battle because there was no chance you could do all checks in your brain while fighting. NB helped with that.Caduceus wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:35 am This sounds rather fishy to me already, since it is basically using a program to process information a lot faster than a human ever could.
That is the way the game engine is designed - it does allow addons. So, yeah, they do exist. It is like marijuana - it is a drug but not a super harmful one like heroin. So, in order to fight the crime associated with it some governments legalized it so everyone could use it without making crimelords and corrupt officials rich. This was our case until end of May - you want it, you use it. Lots of people used it and game did not die. I am willing to wager half of server used it this way or another. Now they made this 'marijuana' illegal. Who profits from that? Go figure.Caduceus wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:35 am This situation that the poster above described, where abilities are being interrupted within a milisecond of casting them, is definitely something I have noticed happening before and have made me wonder what exactly these addons are being used for and how unfair they are.
This is balooney. GCD is imposed by the server not by the client. Your client just tells server what abilities it wants to be used and server calculates the end result. But regardless of what you or NB want to be used, server will always apply a 1.5 sec pause after every ability unless otherwise is stated in the description of the ability (there are a few that are not affected by GCD)Caduceus wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:35 am Do you know anything about the rumors that NerfButtons (or offshoots of it) is able to circumvent global cooldown? This is something I have seen hinted at in posts several times. Is there anything to support this claim? I can imagine a well-executed timestamp to look like global cooldown is being circumvented, however what is actually making everything hit at the same time is the travel time of spells. Your thoughts?
