Critical Hit Rate vs Critical Hit Rate_Melee (getstats)

Are these added together to give total melee crit chance? E.g. my IB with Sweet Revenge (>50 grudge -> +15% crit chance), Ancestor's Fury (+10% chance) and +5% melee crit chance from Merc set bonus shows as: critical_hit_rate = 25% , critical_hit_rate_melee = 5%, but when it comes to actually checking whether a hit crits, is the server correctly using 30%?

Also, is the critical_hit_rate more general in that it includes all of heal/ranged/melee? I've asked elsewhere whether Kneecapper/Crush the Weak are affecting heal crit (which I don't believe they should) but it seems noone knows for sure; if they are though, is this why? Also heard a rumour* that Fanaticism was increasing heal crit as well, presumably for the same reason if true.

Any clarification from a dev or someone else who knows the combat code would be appreciated.

*S/he didn't seem like they were trolling but they could've just been wrong ofc :P

Yeh it does addup.

Critical_Hit_Rate is crit for everything, healing/melee/ranged. On the skills mentioned, you can just get an IB/BG to duel or meet in RvR and test those abilities. If fanaticism does increase healing crit by 10%, the drain on all your healing by 20% will make you worse off.

Have you tested that with an adequate number of mobs, or else got a link to Azarael or someone saying it recently? Not trying to be an arse but you were apparently wrong (as I was) about crit dmg values, and anyone can say "X works." Hence why I requested a response from someone familiar with the actual code.

Yep I know, but I didn't have time earlier and I won't be back in-game till the weekend. If tooltips which say "increases chance to critically hit by Y%" are increasing all crit chance (inc. heal) though, that's a bug afaik. And it's largely irrelevant what effect it might have on WPs - ppl can discuss that from a balance perspective if they think it should work that way.

no idea how its atm but on live I think Kneecapper reduced even heal crit (or atleast I was told to use this ability up with outgoing heal debuff on doks when I was trying to play IB :D )

I think the players can usually just tell you how it was on live (Lileldys already did that). To figure it out is time heavy (you have to make hell lot of attacks with every possible setup to get some solid results that would show the difference). Best bet is to just try to ask RoR devs.

This is how it worked on live. Dirty tricks and Leading Shots boosted crit heal chance on live.

Modifiers to general critical hit rate affect all interactions that can critically hit. Modifiers to specific critical hit rate affect only that type of interaction, and will stack with general critical hit rate modifiers.

additive, right? so 25%+5% = 30% ?
- Martock - Tiggo - Antigonos - Mago - Hamilkar - Melquart

That's good to finally know for sure, thanks. I remember DT being that way on AoR but for some reason I thought it was one of the exceptions.

And that answers the other part, thanks all.

Testing the crit chance isn't too bad if you use enemy - a method I only remembered ages ago after spending hours tallying it up on paper *facepalm* :x And yh I thought about pm'ing a dev but it seems more intrusive tbh, so thought I'd try here first or just wait till I could check it myself :P
