Marks and Runes

How specifically did Marks and Runes work in AoR.

I have forgotten. Weren't you able to apply Marks/Runes outside of group at one time? If so, does anyone have proof or is it just memory.

You were able to apply them in-group, but they persisted when you left the group. If you only had one Z/RP in a warband, the leader could shuffle them through the groups until they buffed everyone.

I know I can google it but most of the old websites that supported that information is gone and it is hard to research early portions of this game currently.

You were never able to add them without being in group, as said above they would persist afterward if you left but that was fixed shortly after as it apparently was not intended.

Im pretty sure that was fixed at some point. But I do remember seing scenario premades with all tree marks without a zealot in the group.
