Hi all,
Any targeting macro on teammate? In SC, it is hard to select my guild friend.
Sometimes he is at F3, sometimes he is at F6, in RVR he is at F2.......I need to remember his new position hot key everytime.
I do not need the target enemy macro, I just need the target teammate macro...any suggestions?....many thanks.

Re: Targeting Macro on teammate
you could use similar to an assist macro so /target "insert player name here" then bind it. You would just have to update the name of player each time.

Re: Targeting Macro on teammate
Way back in the old days of daoc we used to make a macro who's sole purpose was to create a macro for the main assist in an 8 man.
Not sure if the string will work but it went something like /macro MA /macro Assist %t /assist %t.
I'm sure some clever chap could get something similar working for a macro you use to create a new macro for your healing target of the day.

Re: Targeting Macro on teammate
I don't think "target" macros are working at all?

Re: Targeting Macro on teammate
'Target' function by right-click on a character works (in range only, of course) but the /target macros indeed don't, if i'm not mistaken.
An alternative solution would be to put an Enemy (add-on) marker on your ally and make it clickable so you can select him on-click on his marker.
The thing is, you'd still have to click on-screen (in that case using Party UI may be even quicker than through marker),
so if you wanted to solely use hotkeys, the F* keys you said you were using in the OP are your best bet I guess.

Made a quick addon for binding a buddy to a hotbar slot:

2: press the crosshair button to set the target
3: input the hotbar slot number you want to bind it to (in the editbox)
4: press the corresponding keybind to the hotbar slot to target your buddy

That might come in very handy for an IB buffbot.sullemunk wrote:Made a quick addon for binding a buddy to a hotbar slot:
