Do gear matter in RvR?

Hi, I am a newbie here and wanted to ask so something:

Do gear scale up in RvR like levels do?
If it does, how exactly?

You should always wear items equal or close to your rank and use talismans in gear with talisman slot to further increase your stats.
Increased are your attributes like strength, willpower, wounds, weapon skill and others on the same character sheet page. Additionally armor and resists are increased.

The exact values you can easily calculate. (Bolstered rank / true rank) * attribute value.

E.g. a lvl20 bolstered up to lvl48 in rvr gets x2,4 increased stats. The attribute soft cap on lvl20 is 550. That means, your stats, in the case you wear very good gear, will be bolstered to 1285. Soft cap is 50+rank*25. All stats after soft cap need 2 times the investment for same result.
