Hello there! i'll make it brief.
If you are a new player to the game you probably will be victim of this random guild invites, if you do get one, check the % Tax Rate, if it is 100 %, the Guild Master is stealing all your earned gold.
You can leave by pressing the key "G" go to Roster tab and hit the Leave button.
This is a very disgusting behaviour from old players that want to take advantage of new players that do not know about this, so watchout if you are new to the game, don't get your gold stolen!
If you didn't know about this, now you know!

It was dealt with as well. This sort of exploitation is something any GM will be happy to stop.
Feel free to click the Help button on your menu bar and create a GM appeal if you find anyone blatantly abusing systems. We have a whole ticket system made for this sort of thing.

Re: New players! 100% Tax Rate Guilds
Would be possible a way of limiting taxes for new recruits? for example one can't contribute to the guild tax the first 48 hours or something like that. A way of protecting new players from this spiders.wargrimnir wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 2:02 am It was dealt with as well. This sort of exploitation is something any GM will be happy to stop.

Re: New players! 100% Tax Rate Guilds
The guild tax only works on the amount of gold (silver and copper, rather) you get directly from looting enemies, which doesn't amount to much unless you farm hordes of mobs.
If you do any kind of crafting, trading, selling, the coins from mobs are less than peanuts to be honest. Sure, at the beginning every silver counts, but at the latest after you got your expensive T4 mount it doesn't really matter at all.
Also, like mentioned before, if a guild has a high tax to someday upgrade the guild vault or something, they (guild or members) will very likely be happy to give you some +18 talismans for your first T4 set, some hours worth of potions and maybe even gift you missing gold for the mount. Many guild member veterans (should) do that on their own when they see you with r40 and a T2 mount.
That said, if you ask them and they do not want to give you anything for a jumpstart, you can just leave the guild and find one that is more helpful.

Thank a for replies, it is at 15%. And being brand new idk any of that. So far just getting the renown gear has been doing me well. Should I not worry about talismans until I'm max?

Re: New players! 100% Tax Rate Guilds
Guild taxe rate only effect income from mob/player kills, say a mob drops 5 silver, if guild has 50% tax rate, you pay 2.5 silver to guild coffers.
These can be used to buy slots in guild vault (will cost several thousand gold to get the vault halfway opened with slots, probably +10k to buy all slots, not really sure).
Then the guild can also spend money to claim keeps + involve themselves in zones, for small extra renown for all guild members present in the zone + higher bag roll chance.
This may seem like nothing, until you see the same guild roll top contris inside claimed forts and gain massive victory ticks.
Most of your normal game income comes from doing pvp quests (kill 25 players, get easy 50s-1g or something) or the 50/50/50 race kill quests, easy 3g, or lot of loot from mob/player kills, where 1-2h of gameplay might earn anywhere between 5-100g worth of item drops and then finally crafting, where some dungeon runs combined with gathering resources for crafting for 1-2h can also net 200-500gold.
Meaning the guild tax is basically nothing when it comes to ingame money sources, since it concerns only the minor copper/silver drops from mob/player kills.

Re: New players! 100% Tax Rate Guilds
While technically correct, the "100% tax" is actually rather minimal, it is highly predatory to invite players into a 100% tax guild. Don't get it wrong, action was taken based on the abuse of the mechanic, not the mechanic itself.
