New Profession: Blacksmithing!?!?

In the Feb Q&A session there was talk of the partially implemented Blacksmithing system:

It was said that a forum thread about this would go up afterwards. I had trouble finding this thread. Searching for Blacksmithing in the forum returned only one post. Can someone link that thread if it was created? Otherwise let's talk about this here.
