Being a good Warband leader without a microphone

Hello, I’m trying to be a good warband leader, but I can’t talk to anyone because, when I’m playing, my baby is sleeping. So, I’ve created a lot of macros to be able to command my warband properly without using a microphone. Here’s what I’ve done so far.

/wb ** Follow me, regroup on me ! **

/wb ** Attack ! Focus on Main Assist ! Main Assist focus on Healer First, then DPS **

/wb ** Go back! We will fight a another time! **

/wb ** Use your buff, guard and potion! ** If you see someone do not do their buff, tell him. After tell me.

/wb ** Release and regroup on the War Camp **

/wb ** Build Morale **

/wb ** Use your morale **

/t4 Join my open Warband ! It is a 8-8-8 composition :) /1 Join my open wb ! It is a 8-8-8 composition :)

/wb ** On Fight: We focus on the Main ennemy assist. Bound a keys to assist the Main Assist. The main assist will focus the ennemy on this order: 1: Healer 2: DPS 3:Tank. The tank will do a rotation with their challenge. I will call the Rotation. **

/wb ** Few Rule: 1-Follow me AND follow my order. 2- Write thing only important to be able to clear the chat. 3- Always Stock morale, I will tell you when use them. 4- Do not play scenario **

/wb ** We defend keep. When oil is there, we focus on the ram. Remember when the door in under 50% you cannot use the main gate. The person who put the oil, call the oil.**

/wb ** The Ram life is our priority. The healer should heal and the tank should shield the ram. The main player in the ram can use the Repair ability each 60 sec. Use it. If Oil appear, DPS destroy the fastest than you can ! **

/wb ** Each group should have magic resist. If it is not the case, tank or healer do the buff. **

/wb ** I speak to other leader, give me a minute please. **

/wb ** Tank on Party 2 and 4 Use your Challenge on me **

/wb ** Tank on Party 1 and 3 Use your Challenge on me **

My question is: Do you think something needs to be changed? Should I add more macros? For example, regarding the Tank challenge, maybe I should create 4 macros to complete the full rotation. Another example: do I have too many rules?

looks good to me. It maybe worth trying to change some of the color's to bring attention to the chat. I know some people know how to do that, but i do not. There is an addon that does a lot of this alreadys, and I think it is customizable but not sure

Warband leader Helper or something.

Thank you all for your good commentary! 😁 I know all this macro is good vs standard Warband/PUG. But versus a premade it do nothing I think. That why I made this post. I want to be competitive versus them.

I would probably recommend using the Warband Leader Helper addon. It was created to do exactly what you're trying to do: make pugband leader's lives easier and more constructive!

It already has a bunch of the macros that you're using, plus some more stuff (like recruitment shoutouts, countdowns etc). It has it's own UI, so you don't need to fill your hotbars with macro stuff. It's also fully customisable, so if there are any commands you want to use that aren't there, you can just add them.

You can also follow that up with the Autoband addon. That will allow you to set restrictions (e.g. only level30+), only allow people to join if you're aiming for 2-2-2 composition (e.g. if you've already got enough healers, it will auto-kick any new healers that try to join), and it has functionality for auto-sorting the warband to proper composition.

Autoband gets a bad wrap sometimes because of the autokick functionality, but it's entirely your call whether u use that functionality or not.

I would also reccomend the Warband Lead helper addon, it does the same as your macros but packaged better and with usefull functions such as countdowns. You can edit all the messages on the addon to show what you want to say.
I would also reccomend Map Monster and a second addon that I can't remember the name of that let's you ping your position, enemy positions etc on the map and see other people's pings when they use the same. Will drop you the name of it when I remember.
Instead of challenge calls, you should focus on Bellows calls, as this is what you need to start taking on more challenging fights. You can track the morale levels of your WB with Enemy and ask for bellows when you think it is needed.

So many comments—thank you all, I truly appreciate it! I have a question and would also like to share a bit about my experience:

I already use the Autoban addon. It’s a fantastic addon that I highly recommend if you lead a warband. I also tried the Warband Leader Helper addon, but I didn’t like it. I prefer not to click with my mouse, as I find it much faster to use the keyboard. However, I did like the text color feature. I’d love to use just the text color functionality, but I haven’t found an addon that offers only that.

Now, for my questions:

Scragmuncher: You mentioned a "bellow call." Does that refer to tracking the morale of the warband to coordinate a morale push? If so, I’m already doing that! That’s why my rule states not to use morale unless I give the signal.

Jajcek12: You mentioned "channel drop." I’ve heard about this before, but could you explain exactly what "channel" means in this context? Also, what do you mean by hiding on AoE for healer? Lastly, I didn’t quite understand the bit about moving left and right—does that refer to flanking in a fight, or is it something to use when moving the warband from point A to point B?

Thank you again, everyone, for your help and insights!
