It sucks because anyone who played wow, and maybe other MMO's, jumps in pvp. it has nothing to do with trying to lag stuff out. Jumping is affective for not letting a ranged click on you. It also is just natural. Guild Wars 1 was hugely pass over by many players because you couldn't jump. That sounds so stupid, but it's true. I being one of them.

I'll take the jumping nerf though if it'll make people happy. Once I start jumping I remember there is a penalty and I stop.
Word of Pain and Boiling Blood are no longer able to proc anything. The Bright Wizard College has confirmed this is a big deal. (stealth nerf)

Please provide a video of bunny hopping being possible in the current engine.

Two questions on the coloured parts of your post if you do not mind...

The red one:
I understand the idea behind that but it no less bothers me to see people do so. - speaking in general, not regarding to how it is possible at the moment in RoR or not.
In my opinion the bunny jumping approach (slightly) pushes PvP to some kind of Mario Cart battle or what not.
The whole thing in fact is nothing but a design flaw that can be and is beeing exploited by "good" players if they are allowed to.
Fault of the players? To some extend definitely but to be honest I would rather not give people a chance to do so instead of hopeing for them not to exploit whatever flaw there may be.

Blue one:
Sorry if this come overly critical but how can anything in a completely artificial thing such as a computer game be natural?
Maybe I just do not get the point you want to make by that statement so please enlighten me.
In fact I enjoy discussing different opinions with people who are able to prove that my opinions are (and thereafter were) wrong.

I played WoW from shortly after release til a few months after the blood elf invasion. I only ever remember spin/jumping, and mostly on my hunter, if only a bit on my mage, to kite D'raak. Didn't seem to matter much in BGs as hunters could mitigate a bit of slow with the speed buff from whatever tree gave it, a mage wasn't likely to blink to you for any close quarters unless they were outstanding frost, when frost stank...
And the jumping I only ever witnessed and partook in when we'd all first run down to center for WSG, or in the cities when it seems that was the only mode of transpo at the time.8-) I don't remember ever jumping to avoid being hit.

I definitely jump more on these maps than any other game where there's a need to jump. As much as possible, when I jump, it's to avoid/clear obstacles between me and a target. If I want to backpeddle on a battle for some healing, then I use charge.

I just thought of the times when I jump more than three times while in combat: when attempting to get behind tanks/other mdps/magi to get a bit of healing, so mostly when collision is active and my mates are in the way.

On live the groups i ran with had a bunch of A.D.D. or A.D.H.D players because we would hop around as a group lol, alot of people jumped around constantly I jumped all the time out of boredom, to put a little visual style in my game play so i did not look like every other RP or WL. Would jump to attain a better position either out of range or LOS or to get to enemy flank. While healing i would strafe jump to prekite to stay out of damage drop group heal if enemy still heading my direction rinse and repeat they would usually turn and head back to fight because by that time they were way overextended. I jumped around to stay moving it deters melee from targeting you cause you are always keeping yourself in optimum position far out of reach. Jumping around keeps you out of RDPS range and its hard to hit moving target. Hell when i was in pursuit with the WL and was chopping some poor healer in the back i would hop the whole time i was after them. Why? Cause if you jump and then cull the weak you put all your momentum and body weight into the axe so it hits harder lol nah not really but looks real cool. Jumping and charge was the best way to get back out of dmg if ya had no destro in a safe spot to pounce to. All the best kiters on live where bunny hoppers but it was not used as exploit because they jumped like bunny to prekite for the most part so melee was never in range to begin with. Situational Awareness and then jumping to keep great positioning is how the legends did it. I have not played RoR in a while but my brother and i are gearing up pretty quick. I dont remember jumping causing ya to warp all over the place but it should not be an exploit if ya prekiteing and melee was never even close to melee range. I could see if ya got 4-5 on ya and ya start jumping and it causes ya to warp completely out of melee range ya could be an exploit. But if you are jumping to maintain good positioning allready out of melee range and the range of rdps how could that be considered an exploit? Ya i really loved the movement and the animation of jumping in live it was effective as well as putting a lil style and flavor in the game. Not like most games where it might be effective but looks so awkward, ugly, and unnatural.

That is what I got from your wall of text btw. And it sums up that wall, and the bunny hop warping quite well imo.

Jumping is fine. I don't believe anyone is against that. It's where jumping gives you a distinct speed/location advantage over someone else that it starts to become an issue.

Note, on my SW/AM bunny hopping is nothing. Other than laughing as I KD someone trying to do so to a poor MDPS. This is literally only an issue for melee classes to deal with, my WH and even KoTBS have issues with it. Far less on the knight, what with perma-slow, but even with that I get hop-warped from time to time.

My WH is the one that feels like a fat kid chasing the track team at times. But then again, I do enjoy getting a KD on someone who kited me previously...

About "adding flavor and style" to WAR/RoR... Why?

Do you need PvP to be more like an episode of Gummi Bears?

Yeah jumpin takes you further in a dowslope then running. I timed this frame by frame in a lost temple of Isha scenario once. Its a pretty sigificant time save aswell. However it works the oposite in a upwards slope. And you know what else. It also work like this IRL. :-)

Why not put your own style in anything you do? Ya sound like every basketball coach i ever had stick to fundamentals why do ya have to be so fancy. Its boring playing anything normal. Its not worth doing anything if i cant be pretty while im doing it lol.

if you are just average in everything you do, you would most likely have a very lame personality :D
But yeah jumpin around all the time is highly appreciated by a lot of ppl. and a lot of ppl do this because they like it and it plays a big role in your mobility. I know there are ppl that most likely wont jump more than they really need to because they dont have this playstyle. but dont bash anyone just because he likes to jump around :)
