And yet they are having fun... I used to love Griefing. In all sorts of games. I'm sure that I would still get a kick out of it, and even think about organizing debolster invasions of low level tiers to snipe anyone RvR flagged from SCs. But I don't, cause A, I don't have a large enough group of like-minded people; B, would prefer to just fight.

OP described a situation that doesn't require debolster to be in the convo at all. A group of lvl 15s coulda come in and wiped them. They were a team of lvl 8-10's. Getting ganked by higher lvl enemies is the risk you take when playing PvP based MMOs.

I can't imagine the butt hurt when LoTD opens and people get invaded for the first time...

The level of ignorance pertaining to the debolster rules is amazing. Its explained in detail what the restricions are. Ive been playing a debolstered AM in T2 and the hate and abusive tells I get saying I'm cheating and its sooo unfair a level 35 killed a lowbie toon waaagh waaagh boo hoo

People need to read and educate themselves:

1. You cant use level 35 gear. 26 max for T2
2. You cant use abilities above 26 in T2.
3. You cant use tactics above 26 in T2
4. Only have 2 tactic slots available in T2.
5. No I don't find T3 too hard. I have many T3 toons.
6. No I'm not compensating for a small penis or any other super original insult.
7. It appears people would rather farm empty keeps than have opposition.
8. I debolster when its dead in T3 and I'm playing with low level guildies. Sometimes I just like to defend keeps and give people opposition, and sometimes T2 is more active and I like RVR fun.

That said I agree its a **** move debolstered players are faming lairs. But each to their own the system allows it.

Well that escalated quickly... Uh, possibly should of expanded on that for those in PC patrol mode... The purpose of this game is to have FUN. That has been generally stated and accepted by the Dev and GM community. Hence the addition/balance of gear that assists the "off-specs". They have helped DPS specced healers join SCs as DPS so they don't take a healer position. Not because the spec is good, or the players are someway special. But to help people have fun.

The entire purpose, of each and every one of us in this game, is to have fun. You don't find that fun? Really? When your WB stumbles on a 3man of dessie/order do you not smile as you crush them? This is a PvP game. The entire point is to kill your opponent.

first off, the spec isnt all that bad, except maybe for zealot and rp ;p

2nd, no, i dont find it fun, what i do find fun however, is ganking 2 unsuspecting ppl by myself and getting out alive... winning against the odds, now that is what i'd call fun

we can all agree that its a game and its meant to be fun. thing is, we all have different notions of whats fun and whats not. some of us play to fight something smarter than an ai, some of us are all about winning a fair or tough fight and feel accomplished winning, and apparently some of us are all about kicking the **** out of defenseless puppies ^^

as far as the OP goes, my adice is dont bother with lairs from a gearing up point of view, you'll outgrow it very fast

T1 lairs are in the RvR lakes. Expect to be ganked/zerged. That's just how this game works.

Hell... on live the only way to open the Dwarf lair was to actually kill someone while having the shadow aura thingy. No PvP? No lair! (at least that's how it was intended).

Awesome! Sounds like you run with a well organized and respectful crew. Of which, I am glad to say there seems to be a bunch of on this server. However no one can argue that ganking isn't a well established and highly practiced modus operandi. And question, What is your thoughts on invasion of LoTD? Honest inquery. At what point do you think ganking/griefing ends and intended gameplay begins? Or are you just directly against unfair based combat? I can understand that. Unchallenging games tend to get shelved pretty damned quick.

I'm curious though. Other than "twinked" based combat or lairs, what other purpose for debolster is there? I guess for tier rewards, or fighting in a lower tier so you don't get smashed by the high geared/RRd t3 pop. But that might fall under the "twinked" portion.

I still fail to see the issue with a group of lvl 8-10's getting rolled while attempting lairs. Currently 15 is the cap for t1, but even if it was 11, and without debolster, a somewhat organize crew of 11's would take them, and then the loot. The lair is in the PvP zone. Is this not what is supposed to happen?
