I don't think this is a tier related problem; imo the same players described by the OP raid one empty keep after another in the higher tiers, if they are allowed to.
I think this is more a problem of players who are unsure what to do with their class and what to do in PvP generally; imo they simply lack experience and they enjoy that "content" because it is secure&easy. Unfortunately they don't get that experience while raiding empty keeps and circling BOs.
Maybe one day the whole RvR will be redesigned so that there is a forced learning curve.

People all saying you loose nothing when you die.
Time is something, and if you are in a position where you may have to run back and waste time, it may be preferable to back up and get out of line of sight of their ranged for a bit, wait for a few heals etc and then back into the fight...
I see no problem in tactical retreats like this, especially in t1 where rez is rarer.

Play a tank. I main a IB and more often than not when I go in, my team follows. Think of it like a flock of a seagulls. When one seagull sees food and flies towards it, that does not make him a "leader", yet the rest of the flock follows him.

It's a bit easier on order side because of the lack of tanks. So when a tank does decide to go in you kinda already have everyone's attention.

Well in t1 many people lack tactics if they play the game for the first time.

The tanks hestitate to go in fist, but that is needed because the others die too quick.
Also people seem to still have bad stuational awareness, or generally aren'T familiar with the classes they see. often you see a isolated healer at the flanks which would be easy to flank asneak kill for 2 people, but no one even tries or follows me when i try, but then it often just leads to failing because alone I can't damage him down enough before he successfully retreats to his ranks.

Later stuff gets better in the Pug games, because castles generate some kind of auto sorting where people stand
But its still messy some times.
If you wan't porper RVR get a group doing so.

kinda not true, if no one actually battles and no one ever goes down you are losng time standing around because you also do not gain anything.

I cant say I had that problem too often.... the wb I was in, fight quite often. What is true, is that people are quite easy discouraged after two or three wipes... but you only form a new wb a few minutes later and fight aggain.^^

That works quite good.

The only times I see wb, who perfected the art of standing around, ist when I see warbands of Kings Own..... not to badmouth them, but they really are to cautious for my taste.

The power gap between newbie and fully geared in T1 is pretty vast too.

Tank or not, charging the enemy front line undergeared without support will just result in a respawn timer.

Then again, pushing solo is always asking for trouble.

To answer the topic question for me it was the warhammer universe ofc and I simply enjoy pvp. To be honest I was a bit disappointed when I bought the game first and found out its not the classic warhammer fantasy where one can grow from a simple Rat catcher to a Footpad or a Slaver or a Fence. Oh well...its a great game anyway.
Other reason apart from the pvp element is the style of the game. Im tired with the other mmos overtuned characters, bodybuilder mages, bikini plate pants, etc. This game has a - how can I say it? - good taste of style.

God this is so much annoying. And thats not even mentioning the heavy repetitive PVE grind and P2W components nearly all MO's have nowdays. The only thing that seems to advance in these games is the polygon count of the "female features".
