Freezing & Lag

Hello,
I have been searching for a solution to the lag spikes and long freezes but cannot locate any suggestions or fixes in the posts and other information I have found.

My lag issues are identical to what is happening in this video:

In addition, I am experiencing complete freezes for 1-3 seconds. Especially at low health, at events such as Rank Leveling and primarily in RVR.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My UI consists of only the mods included with the client download and I have tried disabling over 1/2 of those.

Thank you

this is internet ping problem not fps problem, look at your internet and specifically to the ping.

Whereabouts do you live(country wise)? In NA I get brutal ping sometimes. And bugs aplenty. 9/10 relogging will fix any graphical bug you have. Or /reloadui

Lag on lvling up, gaining a RR, changing zones, loading zones, etc yea I get a bit of lag. Rarely does it become unplayable however. The server is in France, not much anyone can do to "fix" that.

Ya, I am in Florida. I have heard about the Lag issues related to ping. However, in the years I've played MMOs including freeshards for UO, EQ, etc. I haven't experienced anything as brutal as these latency issues. As well as the freezes which to me seem like a different issue, yet perhaps not unrelated. Even back in the dial up days playing Allegiance with 100 players on screen and some other multi-player dial-ups I don't remember any issues this hardcore. In the 90s I lived in rural areas of Arkansas and Missouri too where the dialup was horrid. I only bring these up as ways to contrast horrible connection scenarios of the past to modern connections where I get 120ms pings, but the experience reflects something more in the 900ms range.

It's unfortunate these are all just categorized as "ya you have a bad connection / ping" and that's that. But, evidently: that's that. Thanks for the replies

btw/edit: I do use /reload from time to time. It helps when the stuttering occurs which I didn't mention. Massive stutters crop up and I think everyone experiences these? However, restart /reload helps. Good tip.

I find the lag on abilities firing or registering make playing melee an exercise in frustration.

I am in Asia and my latency is quite horrifying so to speak. I constantly have 0.5s~1s additional cast time after the cast bar finishes charging, get rooted while cannot root people, or even get snare out of nowhere when walking in parallel straight lines with the guy chasing me for 20s, kd from 40ft away by a knight etc. I believe my internet speed is quite good but the location is really the big factor for this to happen. It is not unplayable (maybe I am just used to it ^^) but it is a pain sometimes. I don't think I will ever find a solution to this other than moving (which is not happening).
Regarding the bugs and issues cause by lag spikes tho, I believe I experience just the same as others when I ask them in group chat, like disappearing teammate, it seems to be universal. Some fixes like zone changing, joinging a sc, reform group, reloadui does help. The game is still under construction afterall, and what I experience after a 5 month gap period is that a lot of the big issues caused by lag spikes that used to plague t2 gameplay are gone. While there is not much we can do about latency with respect to our physical locations, I have faith that some of these big spike issues will be addressed in some form in the future.

I am sure some of these "fixes" are mentioned by someone else before, but you are definitely not alone on the loathsome latency ^^

This doesn't look like a latency issue, but more of a packetloss issue.
Worth trying a VPN

I have only ever used this one http://www.vpngate.net/en/download.aspx which is free through a Japanese University. I remember it having disconnect issues from time to time. Have one you can recommend?

Hi/
you could try disabling your addons and try see if there is a difference, I know that helped me out a fair bit.
