True, if I could just stand there and wail on a tank to do good group-heals it would kinda defeat the purpose of not speccing full DR. Maybe make the heal portion independent of block/parry? So that you still get the low damage and thus low healing of hitting a tank, but still don't get screwed by defense checks.

Can DoKs also get Consume Essence back instead of the AP heal? Would be nice to have an out-of-group lifetap available as well.

I'm up for anything that lets melee healers excel at or beyond backline healers. It's a risky job and you can die like **** - you should heal more lol.

Backliners have nearly zero risk and with guard plus their shield on every heal crit not to mention their armor now + dodge/disrupt/parry being out of this world... just silly when it comes to tanking.

So if a melee healer were to be on par, it'd be really fun to be honest. But until that day us true melee healers will keep doing it the fun way
