WL BiS equipment

So, I am sitting with 4/5 merc now (missing chest). I use Lion's roar, 3x 20 str/20 w jewels, one +32 str ring, a +30 str/20 w cloak, qhaysh belt. I was looking at other things to look for, so I was wondering what might be the BiS setup at the moment: I like the +5 crit axe from dwarf t4, the +1% crit cloak from order T4, not sure about the 2 elf belts. When it's available, I might consider the great oathstones set for the +15% spd (do they stack with AA tactic?). Any other ideas to what I should aim for?

Thank you very muych :)

Why not use 4 piece Mercenary with the Ruin shoulders for their 3% crit?

Well, on WL 5/5 merc enables a few interesting specs, like this for soloing

anyway, the ruin shoulders are very good. I am more interested in jewellery/belt etc, any other possibilities besides the purple bag options? What do you think about the elves inf belts?

Pack Hunting makes no sense to me when playing a Guardian spec. Pretty sure Trained To Kill is the stance you will run and which synergyzes the most with Leonine Frenzy. Also the disrupt from Echoing Roar is quite useful so rather take this than Pack Hunting. If you think ER isn't worth it take Baited Trap for the defense which helps you in certain 1vs1 against pdps classes.

Ty for your feedback Bretin, could you elaborate on Pack Hunting and different specs please? I never tried the solo spec so I am interested. Also, I would like to know what you think about the equipment (dwarf axe, belts, etc). Thank you!

not sure if i understood that one right, do you want my opinion about Pack Hunting in certain other specs? If so i think it's a great tactic and i'd recommend to use it in most common specs. Usually you aim for slow weapon speed on the WL to increase the AA value as much as possible hence why PH is crucial. Anyway when playing Guardian a lot of your damage will be provided by the Pet. Since Train to Kill does not only profit from the mastery points spent into Guardian, it's also the highest damage stance for the Lion itself.

While i am sure that a 100% glascanon WL does work within the lakes too, i think defense is crucial when playing solo especially when being outnumbered. That's why i suggested Baited Trap. It will help you a lot against any pdps classes and often grant you an advantage over your enemy.

If you feel more confident by taking another offensive tactic you should consider Echoing Roar. It will help you to outplay certain classes and deny their win. Just imagine a scenario in which you are facing a choppa or a mdok. Both are great 1vs1 classes and they do have the potential to kill you (dok even more than choppa). What they both rely on is their heal channel. If you manage to burst them during the KD, they will try to heal channel themself up. If they damage you to do so, you are most likely done. If you manage to use Echoing Roar to cancel their animation, you will win.

Also, I would like to know what you think about the equipment (dwarf axe, belts, etc). Thank you!
can't tell you atm since my WL is 36. i did nothing besides killing some mobs to get rid of rested. we play destru exclusive for now and it might take a while before you see us on order again (simply due to the competition). as for gear i think it's quite common to use either 4 merc 1 ruin (shoulders) or 3 merc 2 ruin for double str bonus. whether do i know the stats from any WL belt/cape nor the weapon speed and procs of the ones which can be considered BiS.

Thank you for the feedback, it's what I was asking for. Well, the 5/5 merc would allow this neat solo build:
http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=wl; ... :;;0:0:0:0:

For a group-oriented WL, it could allow also this (not a fan of Primal Fury)
http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=wl; ... ;;;0:0:0:0:

I am not very sold on the ruin/merc mix up, even though the +3% crit from the shoulders might be tempting. What do you think?

I think the extra autoattack and crit-damage is vital to the class.
Even though you spec into the guardian and your pet would do more damage being in TTK, I still think you get so much more out of staying in TTH with Pack Hunting.
I recently specced Hunter and Guardian (never did before) and just LOVE the knockdown.

Regarding the 4th tactic, I use different ones depending on the situation but now running with mostly Riposte or the pet speed tactic for pulls.

Edit: Have full Mercenary, so get the extra mastery point.

So I'll soon be able to choose one of the Elf T4 belts: the str one might be the most obvious choice, but i like the idea of wounds+melee power. Has anybody tried it? How does that fare into the dps calculations? I have crit from ruin shoulders, 5% from merc, soon the +5% from the axe, + renown points and the Praag back.

Thanks for the input
