Will I ever have to reinstall?

There is no issue perse, but I'm curious how these patches get applied. Do I have to download them locally or is it all just put up on the server?

Until the devs can push updates to the client all of the patches are server-side.

Then would there be an alert in the launcher to reinstall or would it be on the website? I know this is down the road, but how would I know?

All patches are on server side. Until any changes are made that require client modifications, you don't need to update the client.

We've thrown the idea around of doing so. We can do so, but laying the foundations to regulate players' client files through the launcher isn't quite here. Once we can do so, then we can.
