T3 to T4 Scenario Emblems

When T4 was launched, questions were raised whether one could convert T3 scenario emblems to T4 ones. The consensus and the guidance from the Devs/GMs at the time was that in order to prevent a gear gap materialising, this would not be possible from day one but that it was being considered. That was the right decision at the time I believe.

Nevertheless, T4 has been out for a month now and presumably a significant amount of players has full Mercenary or are progressing well towards this. Therefore, my question is if we get the option in the near future to convert our T3 emblems as gear gaps shouldn't be as significant now?

This game is in alpha phase and the player-base are deemed to be testers, rather than players. Promoting them to play ALTs again will help with testing but there are likely to be players - including me - who are disinclined to do so after having grind scenarios for a considerable amount of time. Scenarios are a valuable and interesting game-mode, but RvR is where the real testing needs to be done, yet many classes are forced into scenarios for their gear.

Having a bit of a kick-start by allowing T3 to T4 emblem conversion may help with this.

I believe the opposite, this current state with Annihilator and Mercenary armor as the only end game tier 4 gear is going to be the state of the game for a long time. You will not see any armor upgrades to conq or sentinel until the fundamental changes to the RvR campaign have been installed. As such, the RvR changes are not easy to implement, and while the devs have a road map it is not going to come quickly.

Thus, to ensure that many people do not quit the game due to a lack of character progression I do not think there should be a conversion, we are going to be here in this current state for a long time.

I do not disagree with that.

However, the Devs have clearly stated that they do not care about how many players there are, as it's in Alpha and players are seen as testers. Keeping a Mercenary grind in place forces people into scenarios where - quite frankly - there is not much to test. It's RvR that needs testing, yet people are forced into PQs and Scenarios. Allow people to convert their hard-earned T3 emblems so they can gear up ALTs sooner and get back into RvR, where the real issues are.
