Simple... the RvR in this game is fun. I love having to take keeps, bash down keep doors, heal tanks when the oil is burning them, all of it. Also, in most MMOs, players get to serious in PvP, even in PvE. Not here, this game is just all out WAR. I don't even PvP much in other games, in this game I love it. Another thing I like about WAR is the public quests. I also like having a friendly target as well as a enemy target, so much easier than going back and forth. I love the classes, I love the atmosphere, I even like the voices on the NPCs. I played the live version when it started, left 4 times to try other games and always came back. When Mythic shut it down I was heartbroken. I played to the last day. I hope there is some kind of solution this ddos attack. I already miss playing again.
I want to thank all the people involved in the resurrection of this game. To do this out of the love of the game. I have utmost respect and gratitude for you and your efforts.
What draws you to play Warhammer over other games?

Re: What draws you to play Warhammer over other games?
I enjoyed Warhammer Online when it was live for three reasons:
#1 The Tome of Knowledge: I love collecting and getting those rewards. The Tome has so many things to achieve. It immersed me into the game. It gave me intensives to explore and spend more in time in PQ's. It actually made grinding mobs fun because of the reward you would get from killing so many creatures. I would explore every portion of a map to discover new mobs or hidden things. It opened up the leveling system for me and made it fun rather than racing through the game trying to get to the end content. It made PvE the most exciting and rewarding over any other game I have played.
#2 The RvR system. Hands down the best pvp experience I have ever had.
#3 The look of the gear and working towards that new set that looks so cool.
Now that RoR is available I am more focused on the PvP only because the Devs haven't been able to address the PQ's and all the Tome of Knowledge stuff. I completely understand their focus on the RvR system as that is the core of the game. I will continue to play RoR for as long as it is available. In the meantime I am trying to help them out by submitting bugs for PQ's, and Tome of Knowledge stuff on Github to help them out.
As a final thought: Thank you Devs for RoR. You work so hard and I am so sorry the DDOS attacks this month have caused you problems.

1)Lore of Warhammer Fantasy;
2)NON mirrored classes;
3)RVR and lvling trough pvp;
4)unique RPG elements as (Tactics+Morals+skill trees) that allow you to build ur own character.
just sick enough of clones in WOW.

I'm massive Warhammer fan. Played both Fantasy and 40k games, massive Chaos fan. I heard about WAR back in 2009 but never had time to play it on live. I heard for RoR couple months ago so I'm here. I would say best PvP MMO ever.

Warhmmer fanboy. Best group pvp game on the market and its free...
Had my best gaming experiences on the mythic servers, hope to relive them.
what I'd change, Its more roll backs. I'd bring back racial renown tactic. roll back defensive morale cycle nerf, and other key abilities.

For me playing way back was all about the great community, although a lot of that still exists i now find to much on the forums that is plain rude, the game itself for me ticked all my warhammer needs, but i do find unfortunately the forums are becoming very......only word i can think of is toxic.
Re: What draws you to play Warhammer over other games?
For me its a tough one between this and WoW, I like both games for different reasons. I am 36 and have been playing MMO's for 16 years. I love MMO's and while I may take breaks from them for long periods of time, I always come back... non MMO's just don't fill in the gap.
This game has things I love that I wish WoW had: I much prefer the style to graphic here, its not so cartoony. I like the dark atmosphere, I love the looks of the armor, they are cool without being over the top. I like how its 90% PvP based. Sieges and world pvp are fun, and I love that it means something when you kill someone, getting those RR points and improving your character. If you kill someone 1vs1 you get a big reward and it feels great. I like how cloth and leather wearers are actually squishy (Unlike in WoW where they have so many defensive abilites they are tougher then plate classes) and plate MEANS something in this game. The community here is WAY better. people are older on average and much nicer and more mature then the average WoW player.
With all that said, WoW is just so polished and a lot of the classes just work so well. I play a Warrior and Death Knight, and man do I miss those gap closers when I play my KOTBS or Iron Breaker in this game... I would kill for a gap closer even if it was like a 1 minute CD. (Yes, we can use flee then take an AP pot, but its not the same) I don't love the fact that there are so few viable specs, at least for the classes I play. For KOTBS for example, no matter how hard you try, 2 handers are just not very good. I would love to run around with a 2hander smashing people while still providing team buffs but sadly it doesn't work well.
If I could go back in time and fix things, I would have made it so that Blizzard got the Warhammer license, but hired the Warhammer art team. The game would have had its current art and atmosphere, but Blizzard designing the game with their ethics: Its not done till its done. Id imagine a much more polished game in the same world, I think it would have been awesome. Oh well.
