I installed directx like it suggested, and my drivers are up to date. So I have no idea either.

Get .NET framewwork, also see if it may be stopped by your antivirus.
I am running it on W 8.1 and had to check those before.

that black box just remains black. Did you look for malware on your pc. Had that problem once. And it looked the same as what you describe.
