BOs can definitely get very nice crits, thanks to Stab Ye Gooder. So an extra 15% on that is definite not pointless, but they become incredibly squishy. I guess the tactic works for them?

Other tanks... not so sure. Possibly not worth it.

Maybe make it work like Divine Fury? 25% more dmg, but 20% armor reduction. But i feel like making the armor reduction only 20% would be a bit low.

Don't forget we can always alter the change with a small patch/hotfix.

I am strongly against any damage higher than the current 15%.

I think we may need to think of something that is not just changing the numbers of what Focused Offense currently is. As a 2h-offensive BG, the opportunity cost of slotting FO just doesn't seem worth it. Filled with Fury is needed for crit and pair that with Hastened Doom for the wounds debuff/AA haste. You can't replace Unstoppable Fury with FO, the detaunt is just too OP, so the only thing you would replace would be your outgoing heal debuff, and I'd personally rather have that than a flat damage increase, especially if I'm going to be losing armor while slotting it.

I do not think the damage component should be more than 15% because it will make tanks especially in the future just too much damage compared to dps. So instead of tweaking the positive side I would focus on the drawbacks which are currently too high to justify running it imo. Doing something with the effectiveness of guard is definitely interesting. The exact numbers can be tweaked a little bit. But something like +15% damage, -10% armor and -20% guard effectiveness (so from 50% of damage to 40%) I guess could work. Obviously have to be carefull that it doesn't become a must pick for every single tank.

Isn't this an OT pve tactic to begin with?

Then 15% more damage, 20% armor and 50% guard effectiveness?

I know this is a little bit out of bounds of the current discussion, but have people considered that the problem might not be entirely with the single tactic being discussed? It wouldn't be the first bunch of tactics that were never used despite being "decent" (although I agree this particular case is far from decent) just because there are much stronger ones that are more or less mandatory.

Seeing how this is quite a common occurrence, would it be possible as an alternative solution to slightly decrease the effectiveness of overperforming tactics, together with buffing an underperforming one such as Focused Offense? I personally loathe situations where tactic A is stronger than tactic B in every situation and I basically have no choice in the matter if I want to be effective. If existing tactics that are currently in meta would be slightly weaker, more possibilities open up for this one, as well as more combinations with other tactics. Just a sidenote.

It depends. It is either:

a) A PvP tactic that lets you be more like a mDPS, and has an additional aggro-management component for PvE; or
b) Exclusively a PvE tactic.

Depending on which one you think it is, the tactic is perfectly fine or perfectly bad.

Since pve is not at all the focus of the server currently, I think it's clear we should discuss it as option 1.
