Gonna repeat myself then.
1. Make detaunt aoe in assault stance.
2. Reduce ap cost of grim slash.
Two easy to implement changes that will not make the assault spec op.
If it is the wrong solution, either add changes or revert and do other changes.
Alternatively : remove tougness debuff from instinctive aim tactic (might be op)

-make detaunt aoe for base into assoult stace require a long enough cd to just re put another stance because otherwise ppl will just abuse this for their ranged stance as an escaping tool only, As sw need even more...
-since both mara/sw should have mirror and we are speking of important stuff, a rebalance on sw assoult should also take into consideration a PB mirror in some form or another one into sinister assoult.

Honestly I hope that we will one day see the RKD from Eye Shot being put back to Takedown and only KD'in the target with the VoN contidional like it was back on live. Having a no-requirement 98ft RKD+initiativ debuff all-in-one on 20 seconds cooldown stands above everything else.

Again just as a reminder, I've not played on RoR yet so my suggestions come with a grain of salt.
The only trouble I ever really had in playing full Assault was AP management, secondary would be penetration (dps) which may not even be relevant given RoR gear availability and the RR80 handicap. In any event, lower dps output on assault abilities, survival, etc., could be accounted for by jumping in and out of melee - which is the lore of the class so I personally think that "need" should remain (and especially if self-punt is staying in the game.)
I think the wise course of action would be looking at AP reduction on Grim Slash and going from there.
Semi-related - Scout/Assault was super fun to play, I ran it through my mid-RR60s in patch 1.3.4 and 1.3.5. Scout/Assault was a single target specialty spec, and frankly, when playing with a group (or even just a healer) one was better off going full Scout as your 'typical' player didn't need the assault defenses. For the majority of the time I played it Enchanted Arrows was broken, and by the time they got around to fixing that, they also got rid of min. range which made Skirmish/Assault with Lilith's Arrow's penetration far more effective at zerg busting tank lines.

I wouldnt of though that with a as stat tactic and wrist slash we would of needs more armour pierce in melee. :idea. The wider thing about the assault tree for me is that everything is just blunt damage.
