Re: Choosing Order Tank for fair DPS ?

Dont listen! :D Order needs more 2hand tanks to break line.

I cant tell you better advices because I play turtle snb IB but check out Volgograds videos on youtube or find the links here in the forum. He is an amazing 2h ironbreaker. And im sure you can find some kotbs videos too. Watch them and decide. Kotbs is easier btw because the class mechanics dont work at the moment.

All the tanks can DPS fine but you will suffer for it. KOTBS is strong and you can't beat the buffs, IB I believe have the longest punts in he game, well they did on live. If I had to play order I'd say IB, but I've already played a knight to end game. Pick what you think is cool, it makes any class the best.

Knight is easier to play, so play a knight, i prefer IB, feels more rewarding and dwarfs and kewl.

Just please don't play a 2hander, we have enough thanks.

2hd Knight retains fantastic utility (longest punt with mandatory tactic, increased crit chance for the group, an AoE snare, auras, an armor debuff with the beastlord 6pc set and a reliable knockdown), personal and group damage mitigation whilst dealing reasonable damage with a 2hder when the Runefang tactic procs.

The IB is in a similar position, it pertains an AoE snare (50% up-time), a 45ft knock back which is unfortunately at a low angle (guard is max 30 ft), a unique parry buff and other stat buffs which rely on the carefull management of grudge (i.e. your oath friend buff and switching it to particular targets like you do guard). However all of this utility is out-classed by the knight.

The swordmaster is another topic, which I have left out because of your OP topic.

IB have the best self heal in game after healers. Also IB have normal heal debuff like dps and unlike some dps even armour debuff! But playing him with great weapon without shield is in my opinion useless, because very strong fire from enemy rdps. The best class if you want puging...Only one what is ennoying are your allies who want guard etc...But for pug (solo playing) it's the best class on Order side. KOTBS is much for premade and group playing, his self heal, heal and armour debuff are much worst than IB have.

I was of the impression that general sentiment was shield not being necessary to do well as KOTBS or IB.

What is the survivability and damage utput difference between kotb and IB like exactly ?
