I was thinking leap to stealthers in the backlines offensively or in those big keep defenses onto keep walls when a mdps gets in an aoe kb everyone out of keep. After playing swtor since war shutdown theres so many good ideas in that game, just as many awful ones too. You get to see how a friendly leap can really change pvp.Penril wrote:
I was totally picturing my BO spec'd with the defensive pounce and the AoE snare. Melee train chases a Sorc in my group? Pounce to her, AoE KB, AoE snare, Sorc survives.
Really, that defensive pounce was all we needed (ok not really but i would have shut my mouth forever and never complain about the class if we finally got it).
I was hoping they might steal from swtor for the am aswell made them more like sroc healers. Take the cd off and increase bubble just put a lockout on those its cast on so you can bubble everyone up at start and give them a friendly group member pull. Pull people out of melee trains or back into keeps. Would have really helped with ttk.

Oh yeah they nerfed quake as well. The best way to stop a melee train. Mdps just took over after that.Luth wrote:was nerfed in the general (half-assed) cc-balance-patch to 3 sec duration: http://waronlinebuilder.org/#career=ib; ... ;;0:0:0:0:Telen wrote:cavewin

Just like a defensive pounce would have done a LOT for SMs/BOs, a defensive pull would have been awesome for AMs/Shamans.Telen wrote:

Bad Mara coming your way? He pulled the BW in your group? Np, AM uses his defensive pull, drops a puddle and lols at the Mara.
Re: Warhammer Online: 1.4.9 Patch Notes on PTS
The main obstacle to implementing such a thing in the future is that we don't currently know how the improved Pounce handling in 1.4.9 worked and whether it used an existing mechanism. I doubt anyone packet logged Pounce on the PTS, so any implementation here would probably end up using the knockback system, which is... somewhat imprecise.

Wouldnt it be easier to use the pull system? As in, your target pulls you?Azarael wrote:The main obstacle to implementing such a thing in the future is that we don't currently know how the improved Pounce handling in 1.4.9 worked and whether it used an existing mechanism. Well I dont know how ability calls are handled. If they are just called and then handled client side then its impossible.Azarael wrote:The main obstacle to implementing such a thing in the future is that we don't currently know how the improved Pounce handling in 1.4.9 worked and whether it used an existing mechanism. If they are just data that call animations and the ability data like leap range and target. Then if you can reverse the call structure for a leap you can give it to other careers. Shame I'm completely useless at C and ASM. I can understand them to look at but reversing or writing Im clueless.
Re: Warhammer Online: 1.4.9 Patch Notes on PTS
Actually, you've just reminded me - there's a packet called F_CATAPULT which is probably designed to do exactly this. I'll take a look at it later.

Yeah, F_CATAPULT is used for Pounce and other "leap" abilities. I assume the improved handling was serverside prediction based on velocity.
