You can sometimes send the pet out to harass or steal if you're pugging in orvr, as the rdps firing squads can get a bit much. But yeah, you should be fighting with your pet. WL is ridiculously easy to get DBs with, esp at low levels, so you can always just point to that and tell them stfu.

I am hardly ever with my pet. The pet gets a silence,maul, knockdown, you dont need to be near the pet at all times. I like to send it out to dps/healers.

Ive assigned my pet a hotkey button, but it has to be selected, changing the portrait icon just increases size, doesnt help with separating buffs from portrait or pet from portrait.

Another issue im having is when you send your pet on a target and then start fighting another target. You lose track of the target your pet is on, plus then you have to hit the key button to bring up your pet to see its health.
Its kind of a nightmare, hard to tell what my pet health is and then also be aware of the targets health my pet is on, if i am on another target.

Just gets kind of a mess. And people saying pet cant do anything, try alternating buffs it makes a difference. Your pet can do just fine without you.

You should definitely keep the pet on your target if you're trying to kill something. If you're totally screwed by rdps firing squad, or see some fool running away at like 1% life with no healer around, then do what you gotta do.

Otherwise, you are just playing in a suboptimal manner. Also, certain attacks like Coordinated Strike work best/at all if your pet is near you (preferably on same target for totally fair killsteal potential )

Just so you know, the correct term for your "gameplay" is "cancer" WL.

Everything you said is true, and it is one of the reason why the WL is hated. The pet is really strong.
I'm glad that the WL (as a class) is strong, it is rewarding for the risk of being into the melee (unlike most of other mdps), and it doesn't have a clunky class mechanic.

But what's the point to just send your pet to do the job? This game is not called pokemon.
With the upcoming changes to the class, this kind of behavior will probably be even more popular I'm afraid.
If you want to kill people from afar, just play a RDPS, don't you think?
Personnaly when I play my WL, I have fun when I kill a player with my giant axe, not when my (kind of) OP pet kill it for me.
Also, when your pet is killed, what do you do for 15 seconds?

Just out of curiosity, on which tier do you play your WL right now? Is it midtier by any chance? Because there is a WL (not gonna name it ofc) currently in midtier that send his pet and don't do anything else. That's so sad to see when you know the potential of the class.

Anyway, play like you want ofc, but IMO you're wasting your playtime by playing a counterfeit pokemon game instead of playing the best assassin's creed with all the best gear and weapons.

If you're not playing with your pet you're playing the class wrong.

You're a melee dps. You fight WITH the pet...

It's like me spawning demon and moving out of range of his stacks coz **** it why not.

I'm kinda curious if the pet spec is actually the best spec 1v1 spec. Mostly because on my DoK I would just detaunt the pet and literally like 99/100, I get up after the pounce, kd, he does some burst, hits fetch, which is me out of the game for like 7-8 seconds, I still can get up, pot/detaunt pet and CW to remove all the debuffs and channel heal up to full really quick and the WL is now dead.

But if the spec was less pet focused for instance, it would do significantly better against DoK but I know the pet is murderous for other classes. So has anyone ever went the spec that doesn't involve the pet, and use the tactic that when it dies you get the big damage boost? I 100% have had a WL blow me up almost instantly after I killed his pet (which made me just start detaunting it and not attacking)

A dps dok will only ever lose to a defensive guardian WL in def sovereign, or during the KD and if wl knows how to interrupt rend soul. If dps dok is good he will win 90% of the time, simply due to pet = free health.

Yeah that is true. But honestly, I've never had much luck healing off the pet unless I get a Rend Soul off on the pet and then go back to detaunting it. In general though most WL's will do their initial rotation. I either detaunt them as they are coming in, they do their rotation and I have enough time to detaunt the pet when I stand up. Or i'll get caught off guard and then detaunt the pet as I get up anyway.

But yeah it wasn't until I was around 6500 hp that I was officially out of the one rotation HP. I will say that some of the 1v1 duels I saw on live were pretty epic between these two classes. I'm all for finding a spec that works in the most situations, I was just offering that little bit of advice. There are maybe like 5-6 DoK's that play today that could actually beat a WL anyway lol, so they probably don't have to worry about it.
