Im not quite sure what you think SW get but it sure isnt anything like the BO and the negative right now is much milder than it was. Why is it BO have the only current ability with a negative? Pretty simple answer really, because thats where Im testing it.
I am refering to this:
New 15pt Assault ability, Shadowstep is a 2s cast, 20s cooldown, 65ft range ability that works as a gap closer. Upon use, it grants a 10s buff to increase parry, dodge, and disrupt by 25% and increase autoattack speed by 25%.

comparison goes :
SW 15 point : 25% increase parry dodge, disrupt 25 % autoattack speed by 25% , gap closer 2 sec cast
BO 15 point : Your armor and resistances increase by 50%, and defenses by 25%, + lots of negative stuff

Main differences : BO gets more armour, BO gets resistances : yes nice for BO
SW gets damage buff , SW gets gap closer


Negative side :
SW gets 2 sec case
BO gets , 10 sec 50% armour debuff, 50 % resits debuff , 50% defence debuff

That picture looks very off to me, but that is in the thread BO things where there was a discution and i showed the same example before the latest patch.

But anyway when you say testing the question is is it planned for other 15 points to get negative affects ?

Is it really "milder than it was"?

I'd say that losing half your defenses is worse than both the original drawbacks, and that's without taking the armor loss in consideration.

The moment you get the debuff you MUST immediatly drop guard, run back and LoS behind something to have any chance of survival. Out of curiosity i tried tanking guard damage with the debuff active on me... I lasted less than a glass cannon BW getting trampled by a WB. Guard was on a Marauder. I can't even imagine what would have happened to me if that marauder was being focused by an organized group.

I don't mind tests. It's why we're here, after all. I just hope that this new version of the ability doesn't last for long, because using it is atrocious.

Awesome looking changes. I wonder if it will be worth it now for some classes to just skip DD and reflexes since they might not be able to defend attacks against classes with existing strike through now.

Looking forward to testing out the black orc changes WAAAGH.

Instead of being a heavy armoured faux tank I have 20s of super defences followed by 10s of being a medium armour class. If i have 16% dodge naturally it becomes 8%, thats not so bad, its significantly less than if you get hit by pierce defenses. If i have 300 resistences then they become 150, again not so bad and if you have a chosen within 100ft they go right back up again or you could swap to Da Greenest maybe.

Now losing 50% of your defense sounds WAY more severe than losing 15% dodge/block/parry/disrupt but it isnt, in almost all cases and builds for a 2h BO its better for you. You could even start to cycle Quit your squabblin' in there to cover the shortfall (which incidentally I dont immediately see why its only dodge and parry and not disrupt)

Maybe it's me adjusting to the new drawbacks, but atm i'm much more concerned about the crash compared to before.

Having your defences cut by 50% it's really harsh. That + a WL or IB armor debuff basically means having close to no armor.

The problem with Greenest is that it's a 25% chance of proccing + it costs 55AP. If the enemy team is aware that your buff is running out they can just AP drain you and switch on you. You won't have AP to switch Greenest, and there's no way you're going to survive a coordinated swap on you with your defences cut by 50%. Even with Quit Yer Squabblin' up to mitigate the crash, it's a death sentence.

Losing around 2k HP and resisting 50% of healing was survivable if you stopped guarding, even if just barely. Right now you lose much more than 2k HP the moment you get targeted after the crash.

About the guard analogy. It sure feels good being able to take a lot of heat and being able to send it right back at them, but if that is the reason why the crash is so harsh, i'd trade it away any day. BOs damage has always been great, even without the additional 20%

Since you gona allow every dps to. Bypass avoidance easier, what about considering implement any hardly concession type.of ability? Since it also have a trade out in addition to while the other stuff dont?

Edit, the redirected force kb does work, very cool ability change as previously the dmg did not make it worthwhile. Great ability.

testing the new raking talons ability, the 4 second duration means you have to do nothing but use that ability to upkeep debuff in combat, and the 20 ft radius seems low as well. Meanwhile black orcs receive a 25% group dmg buff that is in 30 ft radius for example.

I am fully behind the concept of the raking talon and as a warband spec snb sm i think this is something i would devote a character to upkeeping, but believe it would have to be extended to 30 ft radius and 10 second uptime to become playable.
