from recent topics, ppl think AP management is one of advantage of AM.
i'm curious if other AMs think same.
i personally don't use any AP tactics.
cuz out of AP is rare.
normal AP regen with some gears is enough for me.
it refills while positioning and running.
or die before run out of AP.
I don't spam group heals to heal 1 target.
avoiding overhealing as possible, cuz it's waste of AP, casting time and GCD.
how's other AMs doing,
do you face out of AP situation a lot?
so mastery point and tactic slot is worth it?

Re: [AM] AP management ?
HE is a ap killer for me without it. Which you need to have any healing when kiting. Though with the AP reduction for HE > BE it might change things abit.

Re: [AM] AP management ?
Shouldn't you be casting something all the time when people need healing, unless you're silenced? While running, you have balance essence or hot or shield or cleanse or HE.
My argument for better AP management would have been about drain magic, and the mechanic. If you don't need pure group heal and can afford to stay still awhile, you can alternate BE-group heal to get the more expensive and slower spell's cost reduced and sped up, which is quite nice.
I still usually take an AP tactic, though. I don't have any +ap on my gear yet; how much difference does that make?
Re: [AM] AP management ?
If no one is in dire need of healing you should be tossing out lambent auras (specially on melee). Alternatively you can use rain lord/law of age or toss dots (but hots are better). If you aren't using every GCD, you aren't doing as much as you could. This is where AP tactics come into play.
Re: [AM] AP management ?
Tbh the nerf of wild healing hit AM quite hard IMO.
Better AP management was the one thing AMs had over its shammie mirror.
If you are not out of AP all the time your group is not under pressure, or you are doing far less healing than your potential.

Re: [AM] AP management ?
on the move, you use instant spells which give time to manage AP in between cast.
so don't meed AP tactic.
spaming HoT eats your AP. pre-HoT 6 times and you are already low AP.
that's why shaman has AP issue.
avoid HoT spam and you don't need AP tactic.
never used wild healing, manual management was enough for me.
except keep defence group heal spam.
this thread was made b4 wild healing nerf.
outdated.
well, it was grp cleans buff for me.
and there are no problem for AP control, it seems.

Re: [AM] AP management ?
On the move you use hot, HE (only to get mechanic points) and BE. When you have time to regen ap in a fight, then the pressure is not too high. In a hard fight every gcd is used for actions.
Dying is no option.
Re: [AM] AP management ?
Dont prehot is very odd advice esp when teamed with magic infusion your hot could do wonders
Mostly harmless

Re: [AM] AP management ?
I try not to waste AP on move.
only burn AP for myself and tanks.
save it for burst 2sec 3sec cast heals.
sometimes target die during cast.
I convince myself that it's their fault not survive 1 more second lol.
or else i would blame myself too much. It's not healthy.
I also save magical infusion for last moment. for 30% below target.
MI + FE or MI + shield + boon.
It can be life saver.

Re: [AM] AP management ?
on live i would use it lastly but the ror variation suggest it is better to use it on cd on some dps. I really like the change it somehow cover the lack of 25% heal increse comming from RP when taking AM instead of RPanarchypark wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 4:10 pm
