Edit:
To be succinct, what I want to add is that every level of community player needs to be valued for what he or she has accomplished in the game.
Meaning, there needs to be a way that older and newer formats can be melded without alienating your original player base.
I understand that in Online Worlds things change and are updated all of the time based on interest and demand.
What I ment to say is that our attention spans, unfortunately, are fleeting, and we often knee-jerk as a reaction to this, rather then going slow and steady and everyone feel valued for their contributions.
Well, well, well..
Well, well, well..

Re: Well, well, well..
Thanks for your generalization and grand proclamation.
I will lock this topic but just FOR NOW and wait for Yali or anyone else who would like to answer this. Then it could be open again so let’s have a productive discussion after this.

Hoy !
I'm not a theorycrafter, just a player like you (for this part of the dev). And as a player, i understand reasons which lies behind this "idea" to downgrade.
As far i know, this downgrade has been announced at the same time these new sets have been presented months ago, and all this has already been discussed. When i say all this, i mean reasons have been explained and as far i know, they are fair and sincere.

Unless you see all content deployed, ROR is and will be an ALPHA, and ALPHA means "huge work in progress". Nothing new under the sun and everyone around knew it before the start. "Complaining" about it now tells me just one thing : It is good enough to forget it is an ALPHA for some players.

Re: Well, well, well..
There's a whole lot of misinformaton, misconceptions and even a few examples of lack of basic game knowledge in this post, but I have managed to find an actual argument somewhere in there. It would be easier to talk to you if you simply posted your argument straight up, rather than pour out your emotions in a very rude and arrogant manner. For clarity's sake, if you intend to have a discussion, it's best if you make a new thread.

I am feeling very similar to the OP. Although, I am not as invested, obviously. I don't think it was a good decision to add "new" gear in the game, all be it different sources, that matches the stats of the existing gear.
It's a huge let down. It lessens my enthusiasm to even play.
Combine that with the same 20ish players that swap characters and sides more than teenage spit at the roller drome, I find it hard to take any of this other than as a grain of salt.
If it were not for the people I play with, I would have scrapped long ago.

Re: Well, well, well..
I feel disarmed after Yalishkah's post.
I know the discussion has been going on way before. This wondeful paint grafic was very conclusive to me at that time.
I agree to the ideas presented that the progression of RR and gear has to follow a certain pattern. Where would be the drive to play otherwise.
My objection is towards the time spend of the players farming gone up in smoke. In focus of that objection are mostly the high-end Talismans, expensive and a pain in the ass to farm. Dropped into the Conqueror sets, these things are wasted and not recoverable.
Conqueror gear will be outmatched by the other sets in terms of competitive endgame where every point counts, in general.
Don't get me wrong. I personaly don't care about the downgrade of my Conqueror set as a DoK. I can work around it and found a solution already. It's not that you reduced it to a point of not beeing competitive anymore from my point of view.
And even if you had, it would not have been a motivation to drop a post as I did not farm like a maniac to get that.
I am very glad and thankful of course that new stuff -what ever it is and will be- is released and unlocked.
A constructive note to my original complain would be to make it possible to salvage high-end Talismans from the older gear.
I think that is a fair proposition.

DoK is still very powerfull with this Conqueror gear on many occasions. It's not even funny.Be grateful, that you was able to use too powerful items for a very long time. :^)

Re: Well, well, well..
The reordering of which gear is better than others seems like a good idea for the most part.
Beastlord is like mini-boss fighting so it was weird that it was better than Gunbad gear for most specs. Though now it is weird that the progression seems to be :
PvE(ruin); PvE(BL);RvR(anni/merc);PvE(Gunbad);RvR(conq); etc
I think this is right, yell at me if I'm wrong
It will probably make more sense as the dungeons are finalized and the ward system is in order that each "tier" of gear will have a dungeon and an rvr set.
OP needs to chill, if everyone's gear is equally reduced (the word nerf is so damn over used), then its not really much of a "nerf." In fact, people in anni/merc are now closer in power to people in conq/dom than before, which is good. What does it matter if anni/merc is the gear that gets an mdps to 900 or 940 strength, they're just numbers?
I guess if you're mad that the plebs in lower gears aren't as under-powered as before compared to your BiS gear then too bad.

Brynnoth Goldenbeard (40/80) (IB) -- Rundin Fireheart (40/50) (RP) -- Ungrinn (40/40) (Engi)-- Bramm Bloodaxe (40/83) (Slayer) and a few Empire characters here or there, maybe even an elf.
