Toughness change means grey players and low rr/poorly geared players do much more damage now.
I'm a tank. Before the patch I could easily hold off 3-4 low rr, gray or poorly geared toons, now they can chip away at me faster.
Few patches back dps doks/wp had massive nerf to healing while dpsing.
This patch tank defenses were nerfed.

There were some weird interactions with it. If you played with high int/low wil in a dps lifetap spec you would get less bonus than with a high will/low int build in a heal spec. This is partly because of the ability to stack a lot higher will than int, which means none of their dps sets were really useful compared to a pure wil build and using the dps tree, then bursting opponents with stacked up abilities at ratios that were broken at the high end. Some things aren't as apparent until you get to higher levels of gear, and it would have gotten out of hand at some point. Not to mention it's pretty unintuitive and long winded to try to explain all of that in a tooltip that was already pretty long because of the other inherent bonuses that still exist and work just fine.Stinkyweed wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 1:38 am Yes, don't understand the change. That being said, this isn't the end for lifetap, and it should work fine if you invest intelligence (it is a dps tree), it's just a push back while we look at alternatives.

Big hit to heal shaman. All offensive spells made worthless save puddle and maybe ere we go. AP drain no longer reliable makes resto burst mandatory. Lifetap heal burst with ain't done yet was the one thing that made heal shaman really fun. Now its spamming group heals and quit bleedin. 3rd tier boring healer. Oh well, it was fun for awhile.

You had it right the first time. The only way to use this set bonus to maximum effect, or make use of it at all would be to spam detaunt on cooldown every 5 seconds. With that being said the only iteration of SHs that would possibly do this would be melee squigs, and for that you may as well just get a guard or slot your detaunt tactic if you need damage reduction that badly.
