Is this working as intended ?.

Constant 3-4 second kills, detaunt just postpones the inevitable..
This isn't my opinion, this is facts based on constantly repeating experiences from
rvr encounters, and not just from me.

This isn't just an opinion. White Lions burstdamage is far too high,
and even if you successfully detaunt the player and try killing the pet,
you're not going to kill the pet in the 5second duration.

White Lion's pretty much kills AT WILL at their current state, with their highest-ingame armordebuff,
combined with their insane burst, they can open up tanks like a sodacan of freenown.

And for anyone saying that WL's is only strong solo and not a group-class..

You never fail to amaze me. You got your ass handed to you by a WL in a 1v1: it happens, certain classes/specs are better than others for 1v1, and if you insist on speaking from this perspective then I highly recommend that you either play another class that is better suited for 1v1, or respec your Magus defensively so that you can actually go toe-to-toe with them. Scenario damage is indicative of **** all, and anyone who uses scenario damage as a means of measuring the potency of anything is wrong to do so.

maybe if you did a poll on the forums about this class, you'd see
a VAST majority of players considering this class way over the top in burst.

A WL can’t burst anyone down with proper guard/heals alone. It’s a team game, WL is the easiest/best class at punishing mistakes. Minimize those mistakes and you cut down on their effectivess more than any other DPS class in the game.

WLs only things they have is mobility and damage, the second something more than a single squishy target focuses a WL, they suffer a critical existence failure...

Opening polls to the 'vast majority' would result in such useful information as: premades are the bane of the server, Engineer turrets are OP, Melee SH is OP, DPS DOK does too much damage (haven't you seen the scenario damage boards?!), Heal WP is too tanky, we need 30 more PuG SC, I demand guaranteed Invader every time I step foot in a Fort - and much more.

You went up against a class designed to make minced meat of squishy classes (such as your Magus), solo no less, and now think this ought to have a bearing on a game that is predicated on group and warband play.

Again: spec your Magus defensively (Demo/Havoc), get circa-900 toughness, and have fun killing WL 1V1. Alternatively, you could just continue whining incessantly.

The White Lion doesn't have much to bring forward, except that short high burst build and a couple of nice tricks that are very often depending on the mood of the big cat.

There's also the issue that White Lion players have to wait till mid or end level 30+ before getting access to aoe skills for zerg wb play while not having the same shinies as a Marauder.

My advice if you think the grass is so greener would be to roll a White Lion and see for yourself.
