Scope of the game?

Here are some questions…

is RoR aiming to bring back everything of which WAR was…. or are you looking to bring back to feeling of what it was? Or are you looking to just do your own thing, with WAR as the foundation?

I ask this merely to explore the idea of the "what if"..

What If….
…Your population wasn't split simply because they "out leveled" the tier?
…You didn't have to worry about finishing all the other tiers in the game?
…Everyone was always in the same area, fighting each other?
…Tier 1, was the "end game" and players were fighting over control of towns, villages, PQ's across the entire map until reaching the enemies starting town?
…you could have huge rolling battles outside of the RvR lake?

So i wonder.. What did people love about WAR? was it the PvE content? or was it the battles with players?

No one really loved pve the Serling point of this game was rvr/pvp and thank fully their was really no pve you had to do on live..... Until mythic started putting in better sets than rvr sets like tyrants that covered up class weaknesses , essentially forcing people to play their buggy ass crap dungeons

T1 is horrible no one wants to say in t1 where healers and rdps are op furthermore I want my sexy sov choppa armor

The devs plan is to slowly rebuild the entire game before rebalancing abilities and classes to bring back was not use war as a foundation

Only rr80 so no warp forged?

Not 100% but I think RR80 is the current goal.

When I think about it 1.4.0 was an EPIC fail patch that unbalanced the entire game and they spent the reminder of the games life 1.4.1 > 1.4.8 undoing it. I guess 1.4.X also was the patch where they lost 80% of the subscribers

Guess it is a good goal

Edit: I'd very be happy if I could get RR60 again :)

So what if.. we are still playing What If here…

You were level 80, had all the gear a level 80 would have the rights to wear, all the abilities(balanced of course) a level 80 would have.. however, all the fights were in t1's zone..(entire maps).

I guess what i'm trying to get to.. Does anyone actually care for the other tiers? or do they just want a level 80 toon, and bash each others faces in.

If that is the case..it could save the devs a lot of time on not trying to rebuild t2.3.4, and just focus on making balance.

Heck, being that all the dungeons are instance too.. they can make warp gates at the start towns that portal directly into all the dungeons in the game for gear collecting.

No one here really cares about t1 that's for sure but after that is up to each person preference many people here want t2 at least because at least then with keep seiges rvr gets interesting while many people are still stuck in that roaming dueling pray mentality the devs have stated that they want to recreate the whole game and add back in all the cut content

T1, t2, t3.. t4… those are just zones. Sorta meaningless.

Based on what your saying, you want RvR with siege/keep fights. and being that t2 hand that, your under the impression that they need to develop t2 to make that happen.

But if they have the code for everything, they just could move elements from all the content we want in the RvR game.. and stick it anywhere we want the fight to happen.

So t1 could have a keep, and siege, and towers, and level 80's and gear.. etc

i really like fight over something, i realy like the t4 progression till city, tough it was too easy after the citadel remove. Also use in soem way for rvr those 2 side zone near every mid t4 zone would be cool. Also i really like the donwgrade for be able to play in t1 again.

Most of the work isn't the zones or creatures as they are parsed from packet logs. It is abilities and mechanics stuff like LOS, hotspots, AOE, buffs/debuffs that is the real mccoy. So skipping T1-T3 wouldn't be much less work as all abilities are needed and all mechanics are needed
