Order 8-8-8 warband full of meta classes lost to crap setup with 6 WE, 1 choppa, 1 mSH, 1 mara and 1 magus or sorc, can't remember. With a less than 2 heals per group.
Order is doomed. =)

Do you honestly believe Destro as a whole are just better players and that is the only reason the last city was another blowout?

Re: City Winner History?
Come on Mr Mythic, you should remember how things were on live. The organised/try-hard guilds mostly picked order knowing it would be the underpopulated side as the destro races were obviously going to be more popular. This led to the dynamic of a large mindless destro zerg vs a smaller order zerg and a bunch of hardened guilds who punched waaaay above their weight. ROR comes along, there's no mass incentive / organisation to roll on a certain faction as it seems a lot of people discover this server on their own. So now there's nobody deliberately rolling the under-populated side. On top of which, I've seen a load of bitter vets from live who forced themselves to play order switch to destro because they want to play the cool chars now.Spellbound wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:11 pmI mentioned today was gonna be a complete 180 in result.
Some 12 man, some 24 man, so lets round it off to 18 players per instance and 21 of them lost in the 3-21. So 378 players are bad at MMOs and need to learn to play. Absolutely no reason at all why the Destro pop is very large and most can't get into the city pop... no reason at all. The design of the classes has nothing to do with why Order plays less tanks or healers, totally player fault. Some current Destro guilds played on Order for 2-3 months and went back to Destro, no reason at all hmm. RoR vets here that played both sides felt the difference on Destro side.
Then again, those players have the wrong genetics and weren't meant for gaming. Leave balance as is, they'll figure it out in the next 5 months, switch or quit. Lets wait and see. Cheers
Currently destro are able to regularly able to put out multiple full warbands for cities all full of people with city experience, leaders with a **** tonne of city experience, etc. And these aren't perfect meta setups either as the reality is that most WBs will take their friends. They avoid overstacking on certain classes. Compare this to order who constantly struggle to fill out WBs and seem to be 12s or 18s. There's no mass alliance to try and resolve this (compared to destro who made a huge alliance to swap people around for cities). We've had destro WB leaders switch to order and have an absolutely **** time finding people willing to work together. Phobic to discord, refusing to merge 12-mans into 24s (no need, you get into city anyway!) and so on.
Order are legitimately **** at organising and working together on this server. And this isn't just destro saying this - you have some very experienced players who either did both sides or order only confirming the same thing. And again, this imbalance only applies to cities which is a melee centric map. The good order groups bringing meta specs seem to do well in cities and compete with the good order groups. The rest of the masses... well it's a melee zerg vs a ranged zerg in a melee-focused mode.
The city map doesn't favour ranged classes at all. Perhaps you're able to give some insight as to why both city maps are flat and packed full of corridors and chokepoints that - both on live and on ROR - have favoured melee (or close-range bombing) groups? The only meaningful high-ground is in the Altdorf on palace and that's about it. Redesign the city (do you have access to the dev tools still?

I wonder how many consider the possibility that the reason you see much less bad pug Destro in cities is not because they don't exist but that the the combination of the population difference and the matchmaker favoring WB/grouped players means they simply don't get into cities at all.

Re: City Winner History?
Order just bombed destro out during of the Reikwald fort with a mass of BW and Engi. Imagine being the melee-heavy side having to push through that every time and wiping repeatedly.

You mean Destro needs to play more Sorc and Magus? This sounds familiar...

Re: City Winner History?
No one's crying. The only people here crying are Destro players that are terrified at the prospect of game balance. 3 or 5s, the point still stands, SH are better at using it and Order doesn't have many CD increasers to counter it.Omegus wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:02 pmIt was nerfed over 5 months ago and order is still crying about it. Hard to have a discussion about metas and viability when we get posts like this.satanlol wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:14 pmteiloh wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 5:46 pmCD increaser is still 5s if you hit enough targets. Saying "if you have CD reducer only" in Destro is like saying if you're a fish in water. Every Destro WB will have 4-12 CD reducers that are all superior to the SM version by far. Pounce on a class like the mSH which is used for splash damage and harassment is far better in a WB than on WL whose job it is to get and confirm kills. Not to mention Order doesn't have the oodles of non-immunity KB BS that Destro does.

edit: Cities had 12-13 days of 5 second AOE increasers, and over 5 months without them.
Re: City Winner History?
Considering you defended pre-nerf Dire Shielding, you should probably not post on game balance related threads.satanlol wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:14 pm
