Ok, I see what you meant now, thanks. So I deleted the USER folder from my WAR directory and I am still having the same issue.Novius wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:02 amJust to clarity some data:Technomork wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:54 pm I am having this issue on several machines as well, so I would imagine account-side as well, unsure how to clear cache.
- For my case i was able to log in to my "broken" account on different PC, which should exclude network and server(account)-side issues at least for my case.
- I never logged in to "broken" account on that "different PC" before, but it was not a fresh client, just different person's PC, so there was cache for different account.
- On "different PC" both accounts were working properly.
Sadly (or gladly?) issue got resolved by itself so i could not tinker with game cache enough to find source of the problem, so this data is all i have for those who still cant log in.
I would guess transfering your current "user" (cache) folder to different directory, then checking connection for "fresh" client and, if everything works fine - manually transfer account/addon settings folder-by-folder should do the job.
But if "fresh" client would not connect to your account and full reinstall wont help either - well.. this would be completely different case whatsoever.

While user cache issues theoretically could be resolved on the "server" side (like an update that rewrites some data), usually fixing cache is up to user.Technomork wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:04 am Got it, thanks for the feedback. I'm not very technical so I am just wondering if the cache would resolve server-side or client-side issues?
Meaning I guess, since my broken account won't log in to either machine, but another account does fine, would that be something messing with the cache might help?
Its not that hard, although it is a bit difficult for me to write step by step guide on my non-native language, but here it is:
- Copy "user" data from the client to different directory (basically - backup it) and then remove it from game client. I believe that would effectively clear game "cache".
- Then try logging on your main account. Everything should be fine if it is cache-related.
- Then you have to slowly restore all data from your original "user" folder to your current one, like addon folders (dive into "user" folder, you should be able to figure out where addon settings are stored). Same goes for interface settings, there should be cretain documents with interface settings data (UserSettings and Character Settings i suppose?).
Two tips:
a) When you will "restore" your old settings just delete "new" data and replace it with backed up one, overwriting it might not be a good idea.
b) The only thing you can possibly screw on "restoration" step is folder placement, keep an eye for folder names and paths.

Done, still didn't help. Re: Cannot get to Character Select screen
Well, obvious step would be doing all i wrote above with "cache" folder too (I dont know how did i miss it before, obviously cache and user settings are different folders. Its pretty late here so that would be my excuse).Technomork wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:23 amDone, still didn't help. Thanks for the suggestions though.
So, try launching client without "cache" and "user" folders (just transfer them, no need for deletion), right now i dont see anything else that would look like any sort of temporary account-related data, unless there are some AppData records. Also make sure you followed pervious advice on "read only" removal and launch game with admin rights (right click on the .exe, you will find an option to do so). If all of that at the same time would not help - well, you need help from developers/support or someone with deeper understanding of game client, because im out of options for manual solution.
If your internet connection is fast enough you also could try torrent redownload as a desperate measure. Just install the game in a different folder too (any path will do, just not the exact same directory as your current game client). Then you can just restore your addons/game settings same way.

Re: Cannot get to Character Select screen
So Cache didn't work. Torrenting the client to see if a fresh install helps, but I dont see why another account can login fine, across multiple machines, while this one cantNovius wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:30 amWell, obvious step would be doing all i wrote above with "cache" folder too (I dont know how did i miss it before, obviously cache and user settings are different folders. Re: Cannot get to Character Select screen
Well, as i said - its pretty desperate, more of "well maybe we did miss something, lets try just reinstalling everything", or "well at least im not just sitting there unable to play the game" kind of thing.
That would also at least give you something to appeal with to devs/support, like "alright my account does not work even on fresh game client, help me out guys", because even if all stuff you did here does not help directly - at least it allows to determine/localize your issue.
Just a talk: if you cant access just exact one account, and issue is shared on many PC/new game installation - well, thats weird. That would actually look like something server-side already, but for other posters here including me it seems to be client-based. Maybe it is different issue.

Re: Cannot get to Character Select screen
Try this: go to a friend and install the game there. Then try to login with all addons disabled. If this is still not working then it must be a server side issue.

OK then this case has to go to the server team to solve it.
