You're essentially refuting your own statement.
People play glass cannons because they don't need extra survivability to survive. With TB they need it even less.
And with TB they will need even more damage to be effective, so the glass cannoning will only continue.

only good for aoe bombing you say? What about a single target sorc? Never be able to kill any healer anymore, if the healer uses TB.Neverever wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 9:53 amLol so your whining is objective and a general truth but my opinion is a personal prejudice... That's nothing but plain arrogance. TB is only bad for aoe bombers and that's is something positive to general environment of the game. Whine as you like but it won't change that fact.Roarik188 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 1:09 pm.
This of the epitome of "I got mine, fk you" the post. I'm sure you have RR80+ characters. More noob stomping shall continue, more noob stomping is good for the game, I'm sure. As people like you continue to laugh, people will take note of this. TB hurts the entire game, but more importantly, it hurts new players. I'm sure your answer is simply "get gid scrub", which is fine you are welcome to your poor opinions.
TB was bad on live, it was bad FOR live, and it is bad now. Your personal prejudice and opinions wont change that.

I wouldn't call someone spending 45 points on defensive renown as glass cannon.Caduceus wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 10:38 am

Re: Anatomy of a Failed Patch
Considering FS3 was already the standard anyway, I don't think that says much about whether someone is running around as a glass cannon or not. Unless you want to argue the 15 extra renown points are somehow the determining factor in that label.

Re: Anatomy of a Failed Patch
Well, FS3 is 30/80 RP, while TB is 45/80 and thats more than half. Typical glass was only FS2 (15/80) and going more yolo.
I think your point of view may be skewed by playing Sorc, who has only one stat to invest into thats capped without any issues even with Vanq and loads of free crit due to career mechanic on top of that.

I play several classes at rr70+, so I'd like to think my view is quite balanced.
The glass cannon "meta", if you will, is typified by much more than a couple renown points here or there.
Tactics, gear choices, career builds, talismans; everything is geared towards maximum damage output, usually at the expense of defenses. A few dozen renown points here or there are, as far as I am concerned, little more than details. That such minor concessions can now produce a whopping -40% crit damage reduction is way out of proportion, and only encourages the aforementioned.

Re: Anatomy of a Failed Patch
It seems like the supports of this patch can't decide whether the nerf was very much justified and long overdue or that the classes barely changed at all in terms of its power and you should not really complain about the nerf.
Re: Anatomy of a Failed Patch
Probably down to perspective.
City/WB maguses don't particularly care, because they are used to playing at limitted stacks, while the BTT style of squat around waiting for some unfortunate individual to pass by gets hit pretty hard, at an individual level.
TB is kind of split based on how people's favored class is reliant on Critical damage to do anything. Prime examples being Sorcs and BWs, who hang around 172% which gets nuked a 68,8% off it. (Just to show how much that is that's Sov 4p, Onslaught proc and nearly half(41,8) of their class mechanic, which forces them to take damage from their own spells). The most common argument, in it's favor so far is: "People aren't going to use it", but if that is the case then why add it?
