they removed repeatable kill quest because profesional ROR players were crying how you can now earn MORE money than before because you can take gold from rvr weekly, while NOBODY of new players actually takes that gold, they (me as well) always take crests, because as much as you need gold, you need crests more.Martok wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:47 pm For the duration of my time here I have always felt the overall quest system in regard to the currency rewards were far too low and needed to be increased. I understand the powers that be have an entire litany of tasks to perform, however my one caveat to that admission is to point out over time many new quest lines have been implemented which means, logically, the issue with only attaching amounts such as twenty silver could have been addressed.
In addition over recent months other, repeatable in most cases, quest, quest which at least paid a massive and game-breaking over-balanced OMG we are all doomed three gold each, have been removed from the game. Why? What was the big fracking deal about the inclusion of a repeatable kill-quest which paid three gold upon completion?
However there is another solution to your problem. PM me a message with your character's name and which realm he or she inhabits, and I will gladly send you some starter gold to get you around for awhile.

Beside some times when I spend to much gold on coloring my armor (what unfortunately happens quite often to me...) while playing a new class i never ever had this problem...

Primarily levelling up through one activity? Sure.rejndjer wrote: Mon Nov 07, 2022 9:56 amOmegus wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:43 pm"Don't tell me about how to make money, I don't want to make money".Murbag wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:32 pmDont tell me about any farming activity and all sorts of professions, all this does not allow you to pay for consecutive flights in t4 zones, besides, I come here only for the sake of PVP. Thanks.
Making basic gold is not optional, and choosing one activity (PVP) and forsaking all others is not an intended way of playing the game, at least for new players. This is an MMO with everything that comes with an MMO: levelling, gear farms, gold farms, crafting (and if you don't do it yourself, you'll need a way of buying potion and talismans from other players), etc.
choosing one activity (PVP) and forsaking all others is main selling point of this game, and OP is 100% right. there are a bunch of you "old schoolers" here with 1000s of gold on your characters. you're lame. ok?
But just choosing PVP won't get you talismans, potions, equipment only available through PVE (Bloodlord weapons, Gunbad jewelery, epic weapon quests, etc) and unless you are bank-rolling an alt with money from your main, levelling up exclusively through PVP and forsaking all others is usually an absolutely terrible idea as you reach rank 40 without gear, without money, probably without a 60% mount and without any means to start supporting yourself. And at that point bolster has dropped off and you're the weakest you'll ever be.
As for gear, you're either spending all your war crests constantly, or if you can't earn enough crests to keep up with the gear then you're running around under-geared in general which also reduces the bonus you get from bolster, because you have chosen to forsake getting gear from other means to let you save crests, which is part of the reason the PVE sets were added to the ward system.
As much as the OP wants to just do PVP and ignore everything else, that is not a viable option for new characters. They can keep paying the game and suffer, or hope that a poor thread in the wrong forum section with grossly exaggerated information (20 minutes to complete one quest?...) might cause things to be changed tomorrow, or you can be honest and tell them that how they want to play the game is not currently a viable option for brand new players, that change on this server is slow, and that if they want money then they will need to do other activities.
Regarding those 1000s of gold: believe me it didn't come from exclusively doing PVP!

Re: T4 RvR for 16lvl characters
If you pvp from 1-16 in T1 you should, as Liledys said, have enough for 8g mount and have some spare. It should normally be self sufficient.
That being said it isn't always self explanatory to do the absolute bare minimum of pve and thus new players who might not know the ins and outs will not have enough cash. This could definitely be addressed.

Re: T4 RvR for 16lvl characters
i asked for cheaper flight costs long time ago it was half joke half serious, its just silly money sink and i dont even have to worry about goldMurbag wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:32 pm You have combined t2+ RvR content. And now I want to know - how should level 16 characters yearn ingame currency for paying consecutive flights in t4 zones? One flight costs 20 silver, one quest in the t2 zone gives 25 silver (takes about 20 minutes, and thats too many time). Quests that are supposed to earn money in t4 zones are not available at level 16. Dont tell me about any farming activity and all sorts of professions, all this does not allow you to pay for consecutive flights in t4 zones, besides, I come here only for the sake of PVP. Thanks.
as someone mentioned war report is free... available every 15 minutes so use this to travel around it should be generally fixed and take you to the warcamp (but still a bit buggy and takes you to wrong pve camp like in eataine yesterday on order... which would kinda be bad for a lowbie to run past all those mobs LOL) if it happens to you use /stuck /stuck to go back to starter area and ride to nearest flight master chp2 usually, or if you are dwarf/elf there is gyocopter clickies that send you to warcamp straight away.
as for sake of pvp, you will want proffessions/gold to make potions or you handicap yourself a little unless you dont care about that... one armour pot, one stat pot, when your higher level you will make gold alot easier.

You can rvr/sc grind from 1-16 and have 20+ easy. 8g for ghetto mount and still have 12 to blow

I said nothing about RvR Weekly. The repeatable kill-quest I referred to were available from NPC's in Praag, Dragonwake, and Thunder Mountain. The rewards they offered were some amount of experience and three gold and nothing else. Meaning, the option to take the crest instead was not an option because there were no crest to take. Just three gold.
Again, those repeatable quest were removed from the game and the question I asked was why. Why were those repeatable quest which offered only three gold and no crest as a second option were removed from the game.
Oh, and how much does a 'professional' RoR player make currently?

iirc these quests got removed when weekly rvr got added. that's why i mentioned it. so before weekly you could've gotten gold via repeatable kill quests. now you can get gold via weekly. that's what people mentioned here anywayMartok wrote: Mon Nov 07, 2022 5:31 pmrejndjer wrote: Mon Nov 07, 2022 9:59 amthey removed repeatable kill quest because profesional ROR players were crying how you can now earn MORE money than before because you can take gold from rvr weekly, while NOBODY of new players actually takes that gold, they (me as well) always take crests, because as much as you need gold, you need crests more.

Ah, ok. I see the connection but I still believe it to have been a bad decision. I mean, three gold? That was considered too much for us poor-peons to be able to make every so often?
