I cant think of any outcome other than less people doing SCs due to this change.

Player min-maxing is going to compete in typically 2 categories, their role and objective. They rush flag and do maximum numerical output their role can do. 0-2 crests, Avg of 1.

Avg 2.5 crests for a surrender, roughly 5 minutes from crest gain to crest grain with fast pops, 30 crests/hr

So it looks like if unwinnable, surrender at 4 is always optimal unless waiting until 6 minutes would yield another 100pt tick for a bonus crest and playing out the sc with incredibly low chance of gaining extra crest through points or kills is never optimal.
Quick, theoretical napkin math, correct me if anything looks off.
You get 1 base crest, then you get the bonus crest for top dmg, kb and so on. But on this you are against 11 other people. So basically have a 25% chance on a bonus crest.
So now you have 1.25 crests base for a loss, before it was 2.25 no matter what.
If your SC is a stomp, meaning less than 100 points for your team, thats it.
But lets be generous and go with your 1 avg crest for points.
So if you surrender now you get an avg of 2.25 crests for a 4-5 min SC.
But the worst part is a stomp with no surrender and premades ignoring the objective (like they do 95% of the time) and camping the spawn. The avg here will be 2.75 crests (adding the not surrender crest, but cutting in halve the points crest because it will likely be less than 100 points) in like 10 mins or something.
And I know exactly that there will be at least 4 people who wont surrender because they "NeEd ThE cReSt!!!!"

As a returning player, this feels discouraging.
The reason is simple in RvR most of the time is waiting for something so I went for SC‘s on my low geared Char, now it feels like I get punished because a really high percentage of them are stomps where the surrender gets called with less then 100 points.

2.25, that seems like a fair number. I don't do a lot of solo sc so I'll take your word for it.

somebody who really loves "6v6" sc elite playstyle. ask yourself why was one currency patch worked on, if not for the ability of pure sc players to get all the geartvbrowntown wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 11:53 pm

If it's a change aimed at the lower tier why not... you know just change it for the lower tiers and keep the values for the higher tiers?
It's completely irrelevant and misguided (if not outright wrong) to quote player statistics based on an image that follows levels (not gearing, veterancy, or seniority). I was also talking about anyone under 40, which that image doesn't track separately (unless you click on player total). Most of the playerbase will experiment and switch back and forth between characters to see how they play and feel and probably never even get them to level 40.
I know you where trying to go for a "gotcha" moment of sorts, but the truth of the matter is that most guilds from 5+yrs ago have disappeared or been absorbed or renamed as the playerbase has changed.
Very few veterans in this game. I would say most playing this game have done so from the last 3-4yrs at the most (easily 80% of the population).
